D5 render is the quickest rendering software I have been used. Initially I am on Vray & Lumion, they both are great rendering tools but D5 render provides higher quality of rendering and the shortest rendering time. Furthermore, it is user friendly, can easily pick up the skills. Another upsides, it is free to use, and you will definitely purchase the pro version after you discover it's strength from free version. Lastly, D5 render technician are constantly improving the software, they are able to create object animation and mountain in a click Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The disadvantages, i would say it needs a relatively high PC specifications and wish to have more control on the HDRI adjustments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the interface and usability of D5, especially for someone who is entering the world of visual renderings for the first time, I found the interface very intuitive to use. This is apart from the excellent quality of renders D5 can produce with the most bare minimum efforts. Also the asset library is something which makes the job easy. I tried the pro version in a free trial first and it made a lot of difference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I feel to use D5 efficiently you need a higher specked system, you will find it tough to get it work properly on a basic system or if your specifications aren't met. The use of material configurations is a little restricted where I can control how the material looks, I feel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
D5 Render has completely transformed the way I approach architectural visualization. Its real-time rendering engine is not only incredibly fast but also produces breathtakingly realistic results with minimal effort. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to pick up even for beginners, yet powerful enough for professionals who need fine control over every detail.
One of my favorite features is the seamless material and lighting adjustment — changes are instantly visible, allowing for a super efficient workflow. The asset library is rich and high-quality, saving a lot of time when dressing up scenes. Plus, the compatibility with SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, and other software makes it a perfect addition to any design pipeline.
I’m especially impressed by how D5 balances speed and quality — I can create photorealistic renders and videos without needing a monster PC. It's constantly updated with new features that show the developers truly listen to their users.
Overall, D5 Render is a game-changer. Whether you're creating quick conceptual visuals or polished final presentations, it brings designs to life beautifully and effortlessly. Highly recommend it to anyone serious about architectural visualization! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

D5 Render has completely transformed the way I work. Its incredible optimization ensures smooth performance even on average hardware, which is a huge plus during long design sessions. The user-friendly interface makes it super easy for beginners to pick up, and the rendering results are impressively polished straight out of the box.
One of the standout features for me is how D5 helps streamline the entire creative process. Since using it, I’ve been able to focus fully on design without stressing over rendering quality—my final visuals have improved significantly. I've tried many rendering tools, but D5’s asset library really sets it apart. It allows me to complete projects quickly while still delivering professional, detailed results.
The constant updates with modern features and trends keep D5 ahead of the curve, and the way they present these updates through clear, engaging YouTube tutorials is a nice touch.
As a former student, the free student version of D5 was a lifesaver. It helped me ace my academic projects with high scores, letting me put all my energy into the creative process instead of technical concerns.
Thank you, D5 Render—you’ve truly made a difference in my journey as a designer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
To be honest, I don’t have any real dislikes about D5 Render, simply because I have a lot of trust in the continuous development of this software. With frequent updates and a focus on user experience, it’s hard for me to find anything to complain about.
In terms of rendering quality, I believe D5 can easily rival top-tier software like V-Ray or Corona—especially if the user knows how to fine-tune the settings. Even for quick renders, I haven’t seen another tool that can produce such high-quality visuals in such a short amount of time like D5.
If I were to give one suggestion, it would be to release more tutorial videos to help users better understand and take full advantage of the software. In my opinion, D5 already offers powerful features—it’s just that many users may not have fully explored them yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
D5 Render strikes the perfect balance between visual quality and usability. The interface is clean and beginner-friendly, yet packed with professional tools. It integrates seamlessly with Revit and SketchUp, which is a huge plus for BIM users like me. The Pro asset library, especially vegetation, lighting presets, and animated characters, allows quick creation of client-ready visuals. The real-time preview and post-production tools save hours compared to traditional rendering engines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest limitation is the dependence on Pro features — many useful assets and effects are locked behind the subscription, which can be restrictive for students or freelancers. Also, it requires a decent GPU, so on mid-range laptops, performance can drop, especially when rendering complex outdoor scenes. More optimization or a cloud-based rendering option would be great additions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The top 5 features I like about d5 are that it is free for students and hobbyists, it produces high-quality renders, it can render faster with easy render settings, it has a variety of materials, and it calculates shadow plays well, and the most important one is AI support. 5 features I don't like about d5: more detailed light settings that allow us to provide softer transitions, the quality of some materials in the material section, especially the brick ones, is a bit low, the way it perceives displacement in the material is perceived as parallax, this needs to be fixed, the displacement of some materials is not visible. That's all I can think of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As an architecture student in the 8th cycle at UTP, I have always sought tools that help me improve the presentation of my projects and make them more realistic and detailed. Since I started using D5 Render Pro, I have noticed a significant difference in the quality of my renders. The interface is super user-friendly and easy to use, which allowed me to adapt quickly, even without having much prior experience in rendering. The option to customize lighting, textures, and 3D objects has given me incredible flexibility, something I didn't find in other applications I had tried before.
What has really surprised me is the ability to generate hyper-realistic images in real-time. It's fascinating how I can see the change in lighting or texture in seconds without having to wait hours to see the final result. This has been fundamental for my architecture projects, especially when I need to make quick adjustments and show progress to my professors or classmates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like its price to at least be reduced by half or for there to be a student promotion at half price. However, I must say that the Pro version, which is what really unleashes the full potential of the app, has a cost. As a middle-class student, this has been a matter to consider. While the free version has some functionalities, it does not allow access to all the features that make D5 Render Pro such a powerful tool. The high-quality export options and the ability to render more complex scenes are some of the advantages offered by the Pro version. However, the price is a bit high for a student, which makes me question whether it will be worth it in the long run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about the program is the ease of use and the interface. For now, I implement it alongside Sketchup since there is a way to synchronize them, which ensures precision. I have also been able to synchronize the cameras, which makes my work much easier. Now it is my frequently used program for rendering. Additionally, it gives you the option to try the Pro version, which allows you to use the complete library, and the materials are of very good quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For now, I would like the library to be improved regarding 3D models; it would be very useful if the materials of the 3D models could be edited to one's liking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
D5 Render is so intuitive, easy to use, you can learn how to use so easily, its library is so full of everything you need, what I love the most is the vegetation library, the options for render, and the speed of it. In the other hand, you have the best comunity, the help you a lot, I use D5 for all my projects since 2022, it is amazing how integrate with sketchup, and how implement the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the least helpful for me would be the lack of configuration for hdri, when I use some hdri, the scale of is too big and there is no option to change this, would be amazing if D5 add this option to change it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used many rendering software before and I have only started using D5 for 3 days. I see a lot of potential in this rendering software, there's a lot of asset ready that I can simply utilize and use. Scatter is especially helpful. I have only used it in a single project but there's a lot of things I see that is very helpful. Also, it has livesync with other software such as Revit, Sketchup and many more that are very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't see any render settings I can tweak as much as other software. I think you need to render in high resolution in order to obtain a better render unlike other softwares where you can retain a specific resolution and still produce great render quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
D5 Render offers an intuitive and user-friendly experience right from the start. While searching for free rendering software compatible with Revit Architecture, I stumbled upon D5 Render through a YouTube tutorial. This discovery significantly enhanced my landscape designs, making them hyper-realistic and professional. When I encountered an issue with the upgraded version, the technical team promptly provided remote support, resolving the problem in just a few minutes. Their efficient service left me highly satisfied. Moreover, the software undergoes regular updates, introducing powerful features like the terrain function, which creates extraordinarily realistic scenery for my landscape projects. One limitation of the free version is the limited model and material library. However, it is quite satisfying to be able to use the free version to get started and learn how to utilize the software effectively. As I live in a Mediterranean climate, it would be incredibly helpful to have more local plants available in the assets library for landscape design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
