I absolutely loved the convenience of being able to manage my prior authorizations in one place, and virtually. No phone calls. So much more convenient than having to wait on hold, be transferred 20 times, then answering 3 questions that are common sense prior to prescribing the drug. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was amazing for years of service, until they completely messed up. I worked for another practice for 7 years and left for a new opportunity at a new practice. I changed providers, went through every correct channel that cover my meds support/customer service asked me to. I deactivated all of my prior physicians from previous practice, and verified my new physicians. They assured me that I could keep and manage the same account- even cleared my prior history from the former practice so no information was remaining. I used the same covermeds account for THREE years. Successfully transmitted hundreds of prior auths for my current patients, and used the service multiple times a day. One day I received a prior auth notification for a patient that needed her post operative pain medication, and prior auth via cover my meds was the only option to get this to her quickly and alliviate her pain 4 hours after surgery (she had severe pain at this point, so calling very adamant about rushing this through). I call the pharmacy and they send the cover my meds request and I went to initiate. I received an error message informing me that my account had been deactivated. I reached out to the chat support line with my concerns and the urgency of getting my account reactivated and attempting to get answers. They informed me that they accidentally allowed a request from my previous employer to be sent to my current account and HIPAA laws prevent me from accessing the account and potentially getting the patient information. I informed them of the correct fax number to old employer and asked that they remove the request and allow me to access my account. They were unable to do that, since I had previously verified that I was no longer employed by the provider. I went through about 6-8 customer service reps, and it was never resolved and no one had an answer or solution. I decided for the patients befit to proceed as they suggested and create a new account, with no prior practices and submit though that account. I did as they asked, then went to start my precert, which was a hassle trying to verify my office and doctor. The BIGGEST issue is that I had 3 full years of electronic prior authorizations on that account. 3 years from my current employer that I am unable to access or get transferred to my new account. Those are medical records and not all have been placed in the patients chart, meaning we know very little about the status or prior history. It's a huge inconvenience, since I followed the exact steps I was instructed to take, and still have no access to my current physicianss patients and prior auths. It's awful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nice to have everything online in drop down menus. Much easier than writing it all by hand on a paper form and faxing it to the company. Ease of making sure you're filling out the right form is a plus, rather than searching the insurance company website for the right form. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Slight limitations sometimes if the option you need is not one of the drop down menu options but a response is required. However I have not had any forms rejected for completing them with information that may not be in the exact right section if I'm unsure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. time saving as it reduces the paper work and making things online.
2. Easy to contact the prescriber and the insurance in order to obtain the PA.
3. They also send notification once approved which lessen the burden on the pharmacy and the doctor staff for calling each other.
4. Also helps to keep the track of the data and we can explain the patient their reason of the rejection.
5. effective and effortless
6. make the workflow smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The system sometimes does not work or crashes and this seems to occur whenever there is something that really needs to be done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most forms are readily available when you search the patient's health plan. It cuts out the middle man. Allows you to fax directly via the site and sends correspondence to the provider and pharmacy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not all forms upload correctly. I have had times that the form was sent to the wrong company causing a delay in the process. A delay in this process could cause a patient not to get medications they need on time making them spend unnecessary money, use samples or simply stop using drugs they need due to lack of physician follow through. This tool is helpful when used with caution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
