With Contentsquare, we are able to understand user behavior on our website greater detail and precision than we ever could before. And, contentsquare has a wide variety of reports and views, so we are able to answer so many types of questions. For example, page usage, impact of elements on conversion rates or revenue, journey analysis, etc.
Also, I have to callout how amazing their customer success and customer support teams are! They are very proactive, fast to respond, amazing to work with, and very knowledgeable. They really helped my team be successful within the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use a lot the technical integration with Google Analytics, team is very supportive and friendly, the training sessions are super helpful, CS is straightforward to use, the visual data representation are easy to understand data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The monitoring by the CSM is excellent with regular updates, and provides a lot of help. More generally, everything we can see and learn about our site and our users thanks to Contentsquare allows us to greatly improve our site based on what users do and like, which is the best way to convert Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
On the other hand, updates are sometimes sudden without warning (so it is only to improve the tool but for new users it can be disturbing). The support received from the ContentSquare team is phenomenal, especially Maxime Cacaly. Max goes over and above for our team and our business, always ready and excited to help us problem solve and get the best bang for ou buck from this phenomenal tool. We've had a lot of new starters in our team and the onboarding has been smooth as silk thanks to the one-on-one training time as well as the always-on ContentSquare University which has a plethora of easy-to-digest courses. The community is one of my favorite features as well, when in doubt Google it on CS Community. Turns out I am never the only one asking something and there are so many ways to get an answer. Overall, as someone who was addicted to HotJar I am even more so with ContentSquare. The data gathered and problems solved has saved us time and energy while optimising for trade and effectiveness. I spend most of my time at work on this tool solving problems quickly, without it I would be spending hours just gathering data to try start the problem solving. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. The continuous updates that are made to the platform are great, but (the infamous but) they are very frequent and sometimes without warning. Without any post-release feedback or information, it's a struggle to try and figure out what the update was that was made and what the benefits are. Some features have broken ContentSquare reporting making it less accurate and trustworthy, this is super frustrating when CS is the bedrock for reporting and problem solving. Contentsqaure allows you to find invaluable insights into how users behave on your site, allowing decisions, changes & tests to be data-driven across the business.
The tool allows you to really dig deep into your web analytics, finding areas of frustration that users are experiencing, content that is working really well but currently not seen by many users, etc.
Contentsquare allows you to build a deeper understanding of user journeys & once the information has been digested, the key findings & metrics are easy to report to the wider business.

Not a dislike by any means, but when first using the tool it can feel quite overwhelming & slightly alienating at first, especially for team members who haven't had much experience with data & analysis.
However, there are training modules which help to build upon understanding & how to make the most out of the tool.

The product has some very unique features and metrics that makes understanding what is driving conversion and what doesn't drive conversion very clear. Apart from being a powerful and visual tool i appreciate the community, guide/help center and CSM that you get as an extra to the tool. It's very easy to use. Funnels and Journey analysis can help you quickly navigate where to prioritise and for which segments/cohorts. It's also quick, it would take seasoned data professionals to replicate the level of journey analysis in a tool like GA or Adobe Analytics. The click-recurrence event is a great metric that highlights user frustration on site, so can be used to elimiate bugs and/or provide a new feature. The Optimizely integration is a must-have for us, so we can create two segments (control vs challenger) and dig into the "why" behind experiment results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Downsides are tied to ease of use... translation of CS data, such as attractiveness and time spent in a given area of the site can be subjective and used to serve a bias opinion. I started using Contentsquare about a year ago, and it gives us a lot of opportunities to plan CRO tests and make data-driven optimizations.
I love that there are different types of analysis that I can do from a macro to a micro level, starting from the customer journey to the page level and specific elements on each page. It was a little bit difficult to really dive into using all the functions that Contentsquare has, but the Contentsquare team is super helpful in supporting and guiding me on how to proceed with the analysis I want to conduct. Precised segmentation and goal setting are also available very easily, and it really helps me and saves my time to focus on the specific users, which is what I am still missing from Hotjar.
