What do you like best about Cloudbeds?

Their interfaces and reporting looked good on the surface, but when you got into detail, they were lacking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudbeds?

I should have known there were problems at Cloudbeds as their contract had language saying that its users could not publish reviews. After some negotiations, I had them remove the language. Their contract does not comply with California privacy laws. They told us that their system integrated easily with QuickBooks; they did not say you have to use a third-party API translator and pay $49 per month for it and that that translator probably does not comply with privacy laws. They also said integration with QuickBooks is easy; they did not say it only works with QuickBooks online and not QuickBooks desktop. They also did not explain that you need a programmer to make it work, as the mapping is difficult and complicated. They said they would handle the data export from our old PMS to Cloudbeds; they did not tell us that if you have a server-based system and not a cloud-based system, you have to do the data export. They told us that the transition to Expedia from our existing system to their system happens almost immediately. On the transition day, they say three days…3 days with no bookings. That is thousands in lost revenue. The transition process from our old system to CloudBeds was done with their limited help, and communicating with their customer support was awful and almost exclusively via e-mail. They have you watch videos and do some light follow-up, but it is hardly a cohesive transition program. Their reporting looks good on the surface, but it is weak when you get into the detail. Their report builder lacks needed functions and operators, and they do not expose enough data fields to make it worthwhile.

There is more, but suffice it to say the entire experience was awful, and we canceled. I have used two other Property management systems, and they were both superior in support, training and service, and their sales team shot straight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cloudbeds?

What a hotelier need? Organization and Intuitive management of the mass management. Cloudbeds does it the best. Everything is understandable for even new frontdesk staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudbeds?

Cloudbeds is always slow, I'm not talking (only) about downtime, but even when it is green in their status tracker, the data loads so slow, for each reload you have to wait at least 10-20 second stairing to your client's eyes like we're in 1998.

Also Cloudbeds is there, making money already

I think they don't have the enthusiasm to overhaul and use new technologies like injecting new updates to the page without refreshing( that now exist just in calendar view). Last year I had written a review somewhere, and forwarded it to the support, but no response. I feel I got the message: " It is what it is". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cloudbeds?

Calendar and channel management is really good, Can manage everything in one place. Also a great database of guests and guest history.

What do you dislike about Cloudbeds?

The font is very small and you can't increase it.

Too many complicated reports, need a few simple ones.

Not able to merge Guests eg Guest books through booking.com then next time Books direct say through Cloudbeds Booking Engine on my website, Cloudbeds treats them as separate guests and there is no way to merge (without paying more ?)

What do you like best about Cloudbeds?

Cloudbeds has a great modern feel and is very easy to use. Going through their extensive library of courses helped me get a jump start in learning to use Cloudbeds. I was able to navigate the system, make reservations, and create reports after only a few hours of learning. It's a great option for smaller properties or a management business handling vacation rentals that only requires a few rates to be setup, packages, and minimal room types. It connects to a lot of OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, etc) quickly and easily. Also take a look at the Cloudbeds Amplify program to boost bookings. The web booking engine is also fantastic (I haven't used the website builder but it looks great on the backend).

Overall, I would highly recommend Cloudbeds to anyone with under 50 rooms/properties and starting out with their hospitality business. It could be used for larger properties, but as the properties grow, you're looking for some other features that Cloudbeds doesn't currently have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudbeds?

There are minimal downsides to Cloudbeds. The main problem I have come across is trying to manage multiple rates. Cloudbeds is structured to have a main/standard rate, and then other rates are generally built off of it (+/- $ or %). That's fine for special rates to be given to AAA members which generally get 10% off, but not ideal when you're wanting to negotiate rates with different corporate clients or groups. The other feature that is lacking is a maintenance area to record problems and track repairs. Cloudbeds does interface with other software that can handle it, but I would prefer one system myself. The final few things are rather minimal. The reporting system does have basic reports, but doesn't offer a lot of information I am interested in (like how many reservations were made the day before). There isn't a good way to handle corporate billing accounts which tend to be important for larger companies. There is a work around to it, but not a great solution. The final thing is I tend to get annoyed with all the extra add-ons that can be purchased separately. I would prefer a price for a basic one and a premium price that includes everything available, rather than trying to decide what you do or don't need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The hotel needed to implement a PMS that worked well with the hotel, with the option to include separate vacation rental units at a different location as well as long-term stays in the off season. What do you like best about Cloudbeds?

The way I can edit my settings flexibly and easily, once configured, attending to my clients becomes very quick and satisfactory. The calendar informs me of current and future availability. I don't like the limited access to elements and variables that can be placed in email templates. Regarding the service in general, I also don't like the lack of customization in their plans, given that there are features I want that I don't have and others that I have and don't want, having to pay more for less in some cases. What do you like best about Cloudbeds?

It strikes a good balance between being aesthetically pleasing while still keeping the display/menus straightforward and easy to navigate. It's probably one of the easiest systems to learn without requiring above-average computer knowledge and the increasing number of integrations it offers make it far more valuable than outdated systems that require the creation of a whole new system to somewhat integrate with related software. There are some features it does not offer that are fairly standard in the industry. These lack of features then require a "workaround". It's so simple to use that it can occasionally be "dangerously easy" to accidentally do something that is not nearly as simple to undo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cloudbeds solving and how is that benefiting you?

It automatically posts charges so there is no night audit to manually run. The Channel Manager requires little to no effort once it's been mapped correctly and, unlike many other systems, there is no commission on reservations made through the booking engine. Im very lucky to have a fantastic Gaby taking me through all the trainings, the support is amazing. The usage and functionalyty of the software is very convinuent, its smart and easy.
