The central system for holiday booking, reviews and managing team is really helpful for our business. We just went through our first formal review process with the team and the in-built tools were super helpful for ensuring everyone went through the same process and most importantly that we completed it in a set amount of time. The calender is also excellent for keeping track of holidays and WFH.
The ability to speak to an HR specialist within hours when dealing with challenging issues has been a tremendous support and has more than paid for itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some elements on the platform can be a bit clunky, the ability to download things as CSV or for the Charlie to create an Org chart would be really helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The CharlieHR advisory service - my Advisor, Alisa, is always extremely quick to respond to queries and always provides thoughtful and strategic advice. I also find the webinars they organise really informative and helpful in providing current market changes and case studies - it's also a great learning opportunity for the junior HR members in our team. There are still a few minor tweaks that could be made to the HRIS to improve effectiveness, such as alerts when someone has used up their sick day allowance etc. but besides small items like that, there are very few down sides :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Charlie HR Advice service: This has been extremely helpful. They're friendly, super knowledgable and quick to jump on a call should you need it. Would for sure recommend to others.
Charlie HR software platform: For straightforward use cases (full-time workers etc) it's fairly solid. The workflow of booking holidays etc is simple and the team don't have many issues using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Charlie HR Advice service: Not sure there's anything to dislike here. If you need advice on HR issues, this is your service.
Charlie HR software platform:
- The design / UX / UI could do with some love. Things are a little clunky / hard to navigate around and I'm forever confused as to where to look for things.
- There are a few workflows that the product doesn't support (EG: calculating holidays for team members with variable working hours or recording time where team members are working abroad) and so you're forced to manage that separately outside the product
- The Slack integration isn't very well thought through and there isn't enough granular control over what messages get posted where, so you end up not being able to meaningfully use it. (EG: we'd love to be able to automatically tell the team who is off on a particular day, but we can't because along with that comes all sorts of other messages that aren't relevant)—needs to be reworked with more flexibility in mind. CharlieHR have been very helpful with HR advice, their platform is very user-friendly and have made people operations much easier to scale at our quickly growing start up. CharlieHR's 1-1s and Reviews sometimes feel a bit clunky so we do use an alternative provider for that. Likewise we have stopped using the Handbook function although the CharlieHR Policies are a great starting point. The most gritting feature is that custom data at CharlieHR isn't easy to bulk-upload - this means we're probably at the edge of how scalable charliehr is for us. I really like the dashboard and I find it really easy to use. I like that theire are a lot of customisable features without being overcomplicated. The calendar is easy to view, so you can see who is off, performance reviews coming up and upcoming birthdays. It has all you could need for a small business in terms of helping with HR. The one thing that i find really annoying with Charlie HR is not being able to extend the submission or end date when you are doing reviews. Luula and the team are super helpful, approachable and quick to respond. I signed up to CharlieHR to support us with completing an employee handbook. Which was incredible support. We had our first HR issue which Alisa jumped straight on in Luula's absence. When Luula returned her support was amazing she would have daily calls with me. Check and amend documents for me. Even though we're a small company, the time saved using this platform runs to over 200 hours per year. We've had several HR meetings with Charlie for support and they've always been so quick to get back to us with clear advice which is tailored to us.
I so wish we'd joined years ago, especially at the cost of just £4/pp. Every startup should do this! It's so much better to get things (policies, handbook, processes) in places when you're still small before you scale.

We couldn't have asked for better HR partners than CharlieHR. Their portal has everything you need to manage HR in a small company and more, and their advice line has been invaluable to us when managing tricky situations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are not software customers at present, so I can only comment on the advice service. My contact Alisa is always so quick to respond to my queries and will always find time for a Zoom call if something is urgent (even if her calendar is full!). It makes me feel so much more relaxed knowing I can speak to someone who's qualified and can help me with the legal side of things. Especially as our business grows and we have more and more questions! Love the new DEI survey and follow-up call (thank you Karen) and am excited to use the new library. Keep up the good work! The response time on CharlieHR Advise is very fast, which is great when I am trying to work through tasks at pace. They are a friendly bunch and no questions ever seems too much for them, which is great, as we have A LOT of questions! Sometimes HR is tricky to get your head around so I appreciate the simple way in which the team explain things. And if the topic is fairly complex, they will give you a call to talk it through, which is very helpful, always nice to speak to a real person and not a bot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I can think of is that the cut-off time each day is 5 pm. We are open till 6 pm so sometimes I have missed the time to ask for advice. However, If I send a question after 5 pm, it is often picked up first thing and a response is sent to me the next morning. Other than that I can't think of anything else!
