I like the cerner because it is user friendly, can input and save data as default so it makes the work easier especially if you have default on the routine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a medical scribe in an emergency room I am extremely familiar with the many aspects of Cerner. I have spent endless hours in the past 3 years creating lengthy detailed documents in cerner. The greatest benefit of cerner is the many details that are available to be found within in the system. Not simply the patients previous visit within the emergency room, but as well as previous hospital admission and hospital related urgent cares. Information is easily pulled in through the system with little work required on behalf of the one creating the chart, this includes PMHx, FHx, medications, allergies, and all diagnostic testing done while in the emergency room. Everything is very clearly labeled and once you have become familiar with the system it takes seconds to access any specific patient information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has it's finicky moments when cerner will shut down at random, most often whether or not the document saved within 2 minutes it will reappear with no details lost. Although it typically shuts down at least once a shift, I have never lost a chart due to this or had to start over with the chart I had created. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Compared to EPIC is not as easy train with and lacks the templates that makes documentation much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that Cerner is not a web-based program, meaning that if the internet goes down, it may still work. I like that all of the information is accessible in one area, allowing me to access the physician's notes, nurse's notes, and other disciplines notes with ease. I don't like that you have to change the date range each and everytime you access the reports and records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used 3 different charting systems as a nurse and this was my middle of the road choice. It flows like Microsoft word which I was very familiar with so that was easy to get used to this program and all the shortcuts and how it worked. There were lots of options to chart things and you could get very specific. Alot of it was free text which has it's pros and cons. I love how it automatically calculates your I/Os based on all meds that are running at the rates you document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes there were lots of unnecessary steps to do things. And sometimes docs could not see the same things that nurses see so they were not seeing all our documentation. I think it was overcomplicated at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has fairly intuitive functionality that made it easy to switch to Cerner from Epic which I used at my previous job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be annoying to toggle between all the different pages. I have had issues with writing notes in one window, having to leave it to fetch some other data, and then losing my work on the note and having to start over again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
