What do you like best about Canvas LMS?

Recommendations to others considering Canvas LMS:

I recommend that users put everything they need students to see within Modules. Hide Assignments and such and just put those within modules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Canvas LMS?

Its really interactive and easy to use. It lets me have a bird's eye view at what I have to do, and what's already done. Its completely seamless and has a lot of features. Its probably one of the best tools to be used for online education purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canvas LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Canvas LMS is providing an interactive platform for all learning related tasks. Whether its giving homeworks, taking quizzes, presenting assignments or providing notes, Canvas LMS does it all. The best feature is presenting the current total marks for a user at any time, and also the "To Do" feature, which saves by showing tasks nearing their deadlines. What do you like best about Canvas LMS?

In general, it's very user-friendly for both instructors and students. I have used it as both. I like how the assignments build the calendar for you and you don't have to include them in your syllabus. It's also gives assignment reminders to the student and grading reminders to the instructor which I find very helpful. You can also move assignments around on the calendar and it adjusts the due dates for you!

They have published a terrific user guide online that answers almost any question you might have and so I have never had to use customer support. I also like how many external applications are compatible, like Zoom, Edpuzzle, and Yellowdig. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canvas LMS?

The one thing I dislike as an instructor is that I cannot reassign something to a single student without giving everyone another attempt. This can be confusing for students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Canvas LMS?

I have not been impressed with the use of Interplay Learning on Canvas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customer service was almost non-existent, the accessibility of the software through devices by the students and instructor personnel was non functioning. Specifically training videos would stop, and the knowledge check areas would not function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Interplay Learning on Canvas did not solve any problems, they compounded the problems, because of time lost and other resources that had been wasted on the product. I.e., hours were spent by multiple personnel trying to solve accessibility issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most about Canvas LMS is its interface, since during my studies, I used it and was delighted, I could check my grades and talk to my teachers without any problems, I also value the ability of Canvas LMS to efficiently organize and manage my academic calendar, reminding me of important dates and deadlines. What I didn't like about Canvas LSM is that sometimes it had glitches and the software would crash, and the assignments I sent wouldn't appear. What do you like best about Canvas LMS?

Canvas is a robust LMS that our students in Grades 6 through 12 use on a daily basis. The ability for Canvas to pass grades back to our Student Information System and use LTI plug-in to connect to other products, such as EdPuzzle and our curriculum online textbooks makes it an invaluable tool for our educators. What do you dislike about Canvas LMS?

Canvas is a little too sophisticated for our K-5 students and Educators. We piloted it in the past, and the students and teachers had a level of difficulty organizing and following their daily curriculum. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canvas LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

During the pandemic when our teachers needed a robust LMS to provide quality curricular courses that matched our state and district standards and rigor, Canvas was the perfect fit. Our courses are synced from our LMS to Canvas via a plugin for quick and easy rostering of courses. The ability to manually create courses and bulk upload students has been a feature embraced by our high school guidance department as they build out courses for each graduating class of students that the students participate in from grades 9 through 12. We use Canvas courses for Credit Recovery, clubs and other student supports. Our special education course managers at the secondary level utilize Canvas to monitor their caseloads. The canvas observer feature also allows parents/guardians to view their student's coursework and grades on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
