We are a fast-growing startup and hiring across all areas, and I was afraid we would need to use one testing platform for our R&D roles and another for everything else. When we came across Canditech, I appreciated how many different roles we could use the platform to assess for. Plus, we can be confident we are making the right decisions on who to bring on the team, which is so important for our early hires. They also had great plans for a small company like ours. As the founder of a startup, Canditch was really helpful for us when we began our initial hiring initiatives. I didn’t have the know-how or tools to create pre-employment tests for areas I had no background in, such as R&D and marketing roles, which was our initial priority. The pre-made test content I received through Canditech was really easy to customize to our company’s product and culture, and saved me a lot of time I would’ve spent trying to create tests on my own. Canditech has been great for assessing our content writer’s written and verbal communication skills. We created a scenario-based test that walks our applicants through a series of writing prompts. Before Canditech, we were just sending our prompts via email, so it’s been great to have a centralized platform for our candidates and for our record-keeping purposes. We’re using Canditech for entry-level positions in gaming (Marketing, Monetization QA, etc.). As a small and growing startup, we didn’t have any testing methods for roles like these. Canditech provided us with 100% ready to use assessments which we easily customized with our company-specific scenarios. You don't need to be a developer to build coding tests with Canditech, and I think that's really awesome. The recruiter I was working with for my full stack roles used Canditech’s pre-made coding exercises and customized them for our company. We hire for multiple teams with different tech-stacks. Canditech was able to support all of them since they have so many different programming languages (they even support VBA). Even for our esoteric languages that are not supported (we use Elixir for some projects), they were able to suggest several tests that worked amazingly well. Just as I said above, there are still programming languages that are not supported, but they are not the main ones and Canditech still provided us with a few workarounds.

A large aspect of the product manager role is communication skills, and the ability to illustrate points and the reasoning behind it. Prior to Canditech, we were wasting countless hours on interviewing candidates, scheduling various teammates to meet with each applicant, etc. In creating video response questions on the Canditech platform, we were able to ask candidates to describe a recent project they worked on, or just to tell us about themselves, and we really gained valuable insights, and every member of the hiring team was able to review the candidates’ responses on their own time. Canditech has really helped us make our hiring process more efficient because we now have great confidence to make decisions on which candidates to interview and hire. As skills are demonstrated and proven during the screening test, we know that the candidates we chose to interview are the most promising, and we’re seeing a high correlation between the test scores and how the candidates are performing post-hire. Although the tests have been really helpful for our screening and skill evaluation, we still do need to have a call with each candidate to explain the test they will be taking and our entire hiring process, which is still a bit time consuming but necessary. Our marketing roles require a lot of marketing campaign optimization and data analysis. We use Canditech’s embedded Google Sheet questions to provide candidates with data that they can analyze and work with, directly inside the testing platform. Every cell in the spreadsheet is checked and scored automatically for us, which has saved us so much time considering we used to manually review each answer of every candidate. Only numerical data in cells can be checked and scored. However, the team found us a walkaround to actually check non-numerical data, so that was really great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The onboarding process was amazing. We had numerous existing tests that were mostly administered to our candidates’ via Google Forms. We sent the Canditech team all of our tests, which they built for us directly in our account and even significantly improved them.
