The most helpful thing about Building Engines is the reporting. The system is able to capture and organize information atuomatically which benefits our departments for billing and audits. I enjoy how easy the software is to use. The tranisition for the tenants on Prism was seemless and we have received great feedback on the change. Our tenants and security department use Prism daily and any issues for users has been successfully troubleshooted by the support team. The support has been such an amazing tool for myself and the tenants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downside to building engines is that there are still some customizations that I would like to see particularly on the billing side. I would like to be able to pick all information that is displayed on invoices.
PM setups i find very intimidating. Our property still has not completed PM setup and i wish it had a more user friendly template to start the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Building Engines is very user-friendly. I like the simplicity of the website, while it still offers some back-end programming options to customize your experience. There are a lot of user-guides, and support replies quickly to any questions/concerns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few minor programming functions that could make the system even better. For example, a notification to Property Management when a tenant uploads a COI. Without this notification, managers need to constantly check each tenant for uploads. With the other notifications on the site, it seems like that could be an easy thing to add. Prism has been a welcome update to the Building Engines system. It's intuitive and user friendly, making training a breeze for new users. Everything we access on a day to day basis from work orders to amenities schedules is all in one place. The auto-assign feature is great because it allows for ease of work order input without having to determine who to send a work order to, which is helpful for shifts that don't have frequent contact with the rest of the building staff. Prism is an integral part of our daily operations and essential for communication across the building team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Filtering work orders can be tricky. It would be helpful if it were easier to limit results by assignee with multiple completion statuses so that it would omit 'closed' items. If there is a way to do this I haven't been able to figure it out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that I can adjust the notification settings for individual or a group of buildings or members of mgmt. It allows you to notify specific people of work orders, status updates, comments, etc. Additionally, it allows the administrators to streamline many standard business practices within or integrated into 1 platform. Our team has Building Engines open 24/7, and until recently monitored it constantly to assign new work orders. I have since increased our efficiency by setting auto-assign policies for work orders based on the issue type, building, property site, and overall responsibility which has changed our game tremendously! It's also incredibly user friendly across the board, and their team provides training materials to assist with navigating the system and submitting work orders for tenants and team members. Their team is very supportive and engaging with their customers, providing system notifications and opportunities to strengthen skills associated with the system. The system also integrates easily with other systems, such as COI Compliance Tracking through MyCOI, and batch billing in AP systems. Implementing the work order system was smooth and organized, with the ability to import data from existing files, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's difficuly to pinpoint a specific attribute I don't like about Building Engines. The only thing I think can be approved upon is the ability to disable a company in the system regardless of the completion status of assosicated work orders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using BE's PRISM product for over a year now and I think it is an extremely user friendly and accessible program. Customer Support team is very responsive, I had a sastifactory resolution to my inquiry within 24 hours, with viable solutions. I use this product daily to keep up with building maintenance and vendor compliance. This fully integrate into my daily operations as to assist with implementing new procedures to work out with vendors and tenants equally. It is easy for tenants and vendors to use this product and add to their daily routines as well, thus making it very easy to implement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Wish we were using the full suite of capabilities to manage the site, but it is not up to us at this site, but the building ownership group. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used the work order application to great advantage over the past 6 months. This was my first experince using work order software. I was a little reluctant at first. but now I see many benefits. I consult the sorted list of work orders for the month when I prepare my monthly accrual. The software keeps me up to date on all the outstanding project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The insurance application could be so much more effecient if we could upload the certificates directly to the software and Building Engines could populate all the insuance fields. The on-site inspection software is too cumbersome to do on site. i find I am spending too much time staring at my phone flipping through the menu of items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The features that Prism offers for Property Management allows for better organization in mangement the different properties in your portfolio. I specifically love the Work Order features. With the multitude of work orders that occur between my different properties, it can get overwhelming to track the status of the work order until completion. I frequently use the Work Order feauture in Prism to continually add notes about the status of the project and any changes that occur. I also love how you can track which Work Orders are overdue. This helps me to stay on top of the ongoing projects and allows me to communicate with tenants and vendor more effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We were doing work orders manually before we switched over to BE. It has been super productive and efficient for us to be able to streamline our work orders online and our property manager and chief engineer have been great at implementing this into our work flow and getting our yearly preventative maintenance schedule into BE to save time and busy work to allow us to have more time to do more important things. We would like to see a few tweaks, mainly being able to customize a few different things to help with our work orders. Also, the app could use a bit of tweaking as well to help our engineers easily select which task they are completing and be able to easily go back to a prior work order if they got pulled off of it to do something else. It works. 98% of our tenants communicate work orders via PRISM. Some even take the time to rate the work. The 2% still prefers to email. But because the system works, the work orders go directly to the engineers/janitorials and bypasses management, relieving me to do other things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reports. I dislike having to doctor up a friendly/print version of the reports to review with the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
