I’ve been using Bright Data’s web scraping API and Web Scraper IDE for almost a year, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. The ease of use of the web scraping API is truly remarkable. Even if you’re not a seasoned developer, you’ll find setting up and extracting data incredibly straightforward. The documentation is clear and comprehensive, making the whole process smooth and hassle-free.
The Web Scraper IDE's flexibility and customizability are standout features. It allows you to tailor your scraping projects to meet specific needs, no matter how complex they might be. The intuitive interface and powerful tools make creating, modifying, and managing your scraping tasks easy.
What truly sets Bright Data apart is their super professional support team. Their prompt, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful support has been invaluable whenever I’ve encountered an issue or had a question. The account managers are not just there to assist; they act as real partners in your data extraction journey, providing valuable insights and support to ensure your success.
Overall, Bright Data’s web scraping solutions have exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable, user-friendly, and highly customizable web scraping solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Previous versions of the documentation did not provide clear enough examples, but this was fixed some time ago. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would like to share my positive experience of working with BrightData. This is a truly outstanding company that provides high-quality services at a high level. I was pleasantly surprised not only by the speed of their work, but also by the impeccable quality of service. They always find solutions faster and more efficiently than their competitors, which certainly makes them leaders in the market.
I would like to separately note the work of the support service. They are very responsive, always ready to help and promptly resolve any issues. This creates a feeling of confidence and trust that you can build long-term relationships with such a company.
I recommend BrightData to anyone looking for a reliable and professional partner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Of the non-critical ones: "empty" answers cost the same as filled ones Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As we're working in a space trying to democratise access to carbon emissions data, we were welcomed onto the Bright data initiative. It gave us free access to their data sets and tools which we have been able to harness and push our mission forward.
What is incredible is the amount of data they can handle and surface so quickly, and the breadth of their data collection is almost unfathomable.
Their onboarding was incredible, we always had a dedicated person we could speak to about our needs, and even for some niche requirements in data sets our queries were listened to and data sets enriched in real time for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much to dislike at all about Bright Data, they've been really great to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For someone who works in customer service and deals with a lot of people from different backgrounds, I must admit that their customer service is hands down.
From the beginning call of the account manager who tried to figure out my needs to the fact that once I started using the account and had a few questions, when using the product, I got aligned to someone in support (Adam), who right from the beginning helped me every step of the way. Set up a call to solve the last questions and got everything solved. It's not immediate to have this kind of assistance, I know as I've been testing quite a few systems lately, and they really are great. I highly recommend them and this is something I don't usually do. Keep it up you guys! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Right now, nothing. They are currently working on implementing more scraping options and that's all one can ask for. Looking forward to seeing what else they will be able to come up with in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I especially like that Bright Data can provide for specific requests when collecting public data. It consolidates the facets that are necessary for gaining intricate insight of the market, which has enhanced the way we address decisions. It runs seamlessly every time without fail even if deadlines are stressed and ensures our projects move on as planned. This precision and reliability afford us with the assurance to run campaigns exceptionally well having concrete data sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest drawback of Bright Data is that you can quickly run into steep cost challenges, as the usage can quickly add up. One of the troubles with this purpose is that we do not always get the same data when we search for something exceptionally special. They make us perform processes again and waste time which is frustrating when projects are time bound. Overall, the platform is quite good, but at times these sets back bring an efficiency hit at the right time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Bright Data provides a robust and efficient platform for web scraping, allowing me and my team to collect large scale datasets for my academic research on the Israel war. Data extraction process is smooth, making it a great tool for accessing crucial information from various sources Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
sometimes the examples are not very clear, maybe improve the guidance for each feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The top feature of Bright Data is how reliable, real time data I can retrieve without having to deal with things like IP blocks. With the large proxy network I can gather valuable data from diverse website without any issue. We like it because it works well with our analysis software and we can collect and use the data for research and business intelligence. All the flexibility that the platform brings is invaluable as it allows us to get the insights we need that much faster and better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The bigguest issue I have with Bright Data is it has a little high priced for smaller teams or companies with less budgets. Setting up can also be tough for people who do not know what the data scraping tools look like. The documentation is good, but it's all still learning curve, so sometimes it drags down things you wanted to implement. Moreover, the platform fails occasionally to achieve acceptable performance with quite large datasets by slowing the speed and reliability of data retrieval. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way Bright Data updates data multiple times a day to keep everything accurate and reliable is what I especially like about it. That's because the sheer amount of proxies can be used to proxy various information concurrently. Over time we've scaled our operations on its ability to handle millions of requests per day, whether tracking competitor prices across regions, or anything else. The biggest value of this, I think, is that it is a simple, dependable, solution to ensuring that we have consistency in our data workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A disadvantage of Bright Data is its slowness to respond during heavy traffic peaks, which interrupt us. That said, it’s also a little overwhelming at first, only adding more features to a tool we can't focus on what's always most important: the key features we need to utilize. Some times this has delayed the important competitor analysis, which affects timing of decision making and our response to market changes on a couple of occasions. Highly reliable service with an extensive network of proxies (both datacenter and residential) and different tools to make web scraping more easy and scalable. Services easy to integrate into any existing pipeline (at least using Python, which is what my experience is limited to). It just works with minimal hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If I had to mention anything, Bright Data could be more (proactively) transparent about processing of user data, such as in the requirement to share passport/id card information when applying for residential proxies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Bright Data's products scratch an evident itch: collecting social media platforms' data has been made very hard in practice, despite legislation that makes it mandatory in many geographies.
Many platforms don't have APIs, third party Python libraries are usually not available, reliable or scalable. This left the research community trying to access social media data at scale with the need to reinvent the wheel for every new social media-related project. Bright Data has proven a fantastic answer to this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, nothing ! Being able to access posts that are behind log-in walls would be appreciated but I understand it might not be legally possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In several capacities with several different organisations, I have been a customer of Brightdata for over 5 years. In that time, I have seen the reliability of their solution increase. This is over a period where web hosting services and information platforms are also innovating at speed to prevent Brightdata from doing exactly what they do. It's been easy to integrate into my data platforms for very frequent jobs.
In simple terms: Brightdata gets around the blocking mechanisms that are put in place so I can get the data that I need.
When I've had problems, customer service have been proactive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve is slight, but there's certainly a learning curve. I think they have opportunities to use GenAI to help overcome that, and I hope their roadmap takes full advantage of AI in the near future to help setup scrapes using natural language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
