I am new in my Company Secretary role and Board intelliegnce has greatly assisted to produce and circulate qulaity Board packs. Generally using BI is easy to learn for beginners.
Building a pack is quite straightforward.

The ‘shelf’ system can become quite cumbersome with longstanding Boards.
Inability to edit a document within the system (and having to republish the entire book when making any change – including renaming a book).

The only downside so far is there is no ability to have fixed agenda items at fixed time that do not move whent he rest of the agenda moves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The papers are filed logically and displayed simply which makes them very easy to access. Access from the agenda to the relevant papers makes moving around the papers quick and the annotation and bookmark function helps too. Customer support is brilliant. As Clerk to Governors/Company Secretary I have to collate the papers for 6 committees meeting 18 times in total every year. The workload and printing costs before adopting Board Intelligence were simply unbelievable. I cannot even imagine how I coped. Board Intelligence allows me to put together a meeting pack in minutes, distribute at the click of a button and update or review at will. I know my Governors really value the ability to follow what is going on during the meeting, knowing exactly what page is being discussed and to have annotated and shared their thoughts directly on the page. The true value really came to the fore during the pandemic when all meetings were virtual for over a year. We would never have managed with an analogue system. The only real downside is the temptation to provide too much information as it is so easy to include papers. Very often I have to question whether papers being provided really add to the topic or are just useful background.
