What do you like best about Bloomerang?

Bloomerang is the most intuitive system I have used for fundraising. I love how customizable it is, it makes me feel so much ownership over my product and like I was a subject matter expert in no time! Even when I do have a question or am trying to figure out the best way to run a report, the chat feature has been easy to use and so helpful! I can't recommend Bloomerang enough! It's honestly difficult to think of things I dislike about Bloomerang. Whenever I run into a roadblock, the team is there to help me work through it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our previous CRM and donor management system were not intuitive and always felt like fitting a square peg in a round hole. Since working with Bloomerang, we were able to really make the system our own and ensuring that the data we're getting back through reporting is consistent. It has been a game changer! What do you like best about Bloomerang?

Bloomerang is an easy to use software, with amazing customer support, and an outstanding implementation team. They were with me every step of the way while we transitioned from Blackbaud's Rasiers Edge. I really appreciate their free training sessions, webinars, and numerous other resources. As a school, the ability to integrate our SIS with Bloomerang via their open API was critical. The API documentation was robust and our developer was able to integrate the two with ease. What do you dislike about Bloomerang?

There are a few features surrounding pledges that have posed some challenges but according to their feature request portal, a fix is in the pipeline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bloomerang solving and how is that benefiting you?

As I mentioned before, the biggest hangup for us is the ability to apply a soft credit a pledge. We are in the middle of a capital campaign and donors tend to pay off their pledge via multiple accounts (DAF, personal, spouse, etc.) and we are having to manually track these outliers manually. I have submitted a pledge request via their portal and am enrcourage to see some progress being made and that other users are experiencing the same issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bloomerang?

What do you dislike about Bloomerang?

Bloomerang is an old, outdated CRM with barely functional features, terrible customer service, and broken promises. Bloomerang has online forms that are not functional at all so you have to purchase an upgrade to get functional forms. We purchased two add-ons (Give+ and DonorSearch) and they didn't turn those features on for over 10 months. I have reached out via the chat and email NUMEROUS times and at times, it takes 3-5 days to get a response. Other times, I don't get a response at all. Their platform is not user friendly at all and you often have to take steps in multiple places to accomplish one thing. Due to the breech in contract on their side (not providing Give+ and DonorSearch for over 10 months), I've requested early cancellation of our contract and they refuse. What do you like best about Bloomerang?

What do you dislike about Bloomerang?

Customer service is quite slow and unevern. Sometimes it's excellent, sometimes it's average and a few times it was very bad. I had to wait 2 weeks once for a query to be answered.

There is also no good customer support for the Fundraise Up integration. We have been going around in circles try to fix some minor things which cause us to put in extra hours of work every month.

Native email analytics are poor - and the integration with Mailchimp was just updated. MailChimp emails to the Bloomerange audience are no longer visibile in Bloomerang. There is absolutely no way to easily track the number of emails going out every month: to individuals, mass emails from Bloomerang and mass emails from MailChimp.

Surveys, wow, noncustomizable in any way. Both content and targeting (timing and groups) is either on or off and only adress 3 groups: Lapsed donors, New donors, Existing donors. Surveys sent through MailChimp get recorded more indirectly, therefore are much harder to integrate in Bloomerang reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bloomerang?

After nearly 20 years with a different program that was overly complex and hard to navigate, we switched to Bloomerang—and we've been extremely satisfied ever since. The onboarding was thorough, and the implementation process was remarkably smooth. Their customer support has been outstanding, and we rely on Bloomerang daily. It’s significantly boosted our productivity. The seamless integration with our other systems has also been impressive, and we appreciate the nonprofit-specific features that truly meet our needs. Bloomerang does have an internal email communications feature, but it's not as robust as MailChimp or Constant Contact. We're still using it regularly, but we are hoping for some upgrades to that feature over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bloomerang?

I like that the database of our donors can be very specific, that we can send emails to them through Bloomerang and not have to create a separate listing in our email platform, and most features are easy to use. I also get a lot out of their webinars. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bloomerang?

I would like to have a little more creative ability in creating the emails, but I'm learning to work around some of that. Not everything in Bloomerange seems logical and it is not perfect but part of that is my using it for only 9 months or so after using another platform for 6 years. What do you like best about Bloomerang?

I use Bloomerang daily in my work. Bloomerang was immediately easy to use. The way it is organized is intuitive and easy to navigate. The out-of-the-box dashboards are interesting and good snapshots of where the org is at with fundraising. They also had a good process with the initial import of the data from our other database. I had a point person that I met with 3-4 times and communicated with many other times with concerns and questions until we were done.

I also appreciate how although the database isn't set up for tracking grants, I, and I think many other small nonprofits, need to use it that way. So instead of telling us it is not possible, they figured out a way to do it using custom fields and then they occasionally hold a webinar about how to do it. I think that shows that they really understand what it is like to be on a small nonprofit fundraising team.

Finally, I don't use the customer support all that often, but when I do, it's very easy and all but one time, the person I dealt with was knowledgable and could address my problem. The one time the customer person couldn't help me, just the act of discussing it with them, helped me solve the problem myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bloomerang?

I don't like that some things are not customizable. For instance there are three out-of-the-box surveys but some of the questions in the survey do not fit with our organization's culture and therefore we don't feel like we can use them. But you either have to use the whole survey or nothing. And we would love to collect cell phone numbers when people decide to join our email newsletter, however, we cannot add Bloomerang fields to the forms. I find that odd.

They were not helpful when it was time to renew. They quoted me the wrong price and they were just going to charge a credit card that wouldn't have worked and that wasn't how we paid for it the first year. I gave feedback to them about the lack on process for this, hopefully it will go more smoothly next year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bloomerang solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bloomerang does a great job tracking donations and acknowledgements. We also use it for our email communications. The software does a great job tracking engagement, and not just donations. If someone opens emails and clicks on links or visits our website, it counts towards their engagement score. We use the Kindful add-on for four seperate landing pages for different websites that we operate and it is easy to set up with their tutorials and instructions and always works. What do you like best about Bloomerang?

The customization options for constituent fields, the reporting, the organization and ease of use. Customer support is the best support I have experienced thus far. You get to talk with a real person, and QUICKLY. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Simple back-end makes it easy to use. Customer Support is top notch - there is always someone willing to chat to answer any questions. I love that we can use it for both donor database and volunteer database. I like that they take into consideration our opinions on what they could do to improve.
