We were able to merge in a central place all the data sources of the IT department. This represented: 1 200 resources, 250 projects grouped in 12 portfolio's. We build a single source of truth to pilot a yearly budget of 90M€. We can reconcile the financial view with the operational (capacity) view.

We were able to integrate many sources, even referentials (Excel files). The dataFactory gave us the flexibility to evolve requirements. This was key as business requirements were not 100% mature. We were able to add new sources, while keeping history of data.

Lots of changes happened in the organisation. Organisation changes and change in financial calculation rules / definitions. We used the historisation capabilities of the dataFactory to keep this under control. We were able to split the evolution in figures into changes of scope or evolution of financial KPI.

In less than 10 months, we were able to achieve what we did not think was possible: The onboarding and weekly use of our capacity dashboards by the 75 middle managers. It is easy to use and intuitive. I've watched as they evolve their product to integrate more data types and platforms. dFakto is is the first automation vendor to satisfy the compliance rigor of DataVaultAlliance's and Dan Linstedt's Vendor Tool Certification Program. First, dfakto is the only (at this time) automation tool to be DV2 compliant

It fits the data vault methodology perfectly

Using dfakto to implement your data vault program means to highly reduce the time-to-deliver, so it means you can deliver more for your businesses than if you have done it "manually" in the same period of time.

It's an automation tool: you implement your DV model into the tool, you press the button and that's it => all DDLs and loading DMLs are here, all human mistakes are deleted so the testing part is also reduced

The dataFactory brings a certain complexity which might represent challenges in the user experience. As an example cross-source data inisghts represent a more complex integration and implementation. The possibility to combine data from multiple data sources and obtain reports that are historised while enhancing data quality. There are a lot of bad data entries at source level managed by different stake-holders in the company. The data-factory allows to see them to improve reporting quality and analysis capacity.
