As someone working in a fast-paced startup environment, Better Stack has been a lifesaver. Setting up uptime monitoring and incident alerts was incredibly simple, and I was able to get everything running within minutes. The dashboards are clean and visually appealing, making it easy to track performance at a glance. One time, we had a critical issue at midnight, and thanks to Better Stack's instant Slack notifications, we resolved it in under 10 minutes. While I love using Better Stack, I do feel the pricing could be more startup-friendly. For smaller teams like ours, a more affordable tier would make it even better. Also, while the core features are intuitive, I struggled a bit when trying to dig into the advanced logging features—it would have been nice to have more examples or tutorials for those scenarios. Its a base but never basic service that all system must have. It at leas three very useful tools to monitor your productive system: Logging, Alert Incidents and Monitor Stats. It may have others services but the config is so easy that takes a very short time to integrate. Android APP is very limited but has a cool link to login quickly in Better Stack to handle the alert. We use Better Stack for simple uptime monitoring within the free Basic plan yet and we are completely satisfied. We switched to Better Stack from another service which recently cancelled its free plan and we were pleasantly surprised at how simple the setup of the Better Stack was and how intuitive the user interface is. The log telemetry with all of its features is excellent to monitor, analyse and surveil logs. Especially because of our distributed system, it is really helpful to get a consisting monitoring of the applications state. We use a lot of thirdparty APIs, some of them are not that well engineered and regularly have irregularities because of bad change management. The billing system was a bit confusing from time to time, which caused us to accidentally switch up the rates & packages two times, without any action in this regards on our side. Their support was really fast and helpful to solve this issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We use betterstack for uptime monitoring and its status page functionality to display and report on uptime metrics. The status pages are the best I've seen, they look great and support custom domains. This company is also obviosuly foward thinking as they have been adding support for Playwright scripts. What is most impressive is the simplicity in the installation and use of the application. The status pages can be modified any way we want them, and log monitoring gives us valuable information with little effort. The features I have utilized so far have been great, but I did wish there was more flexibility when it came to setting alert thresholds in the log monitoring system. I think it would be better if the alerts could be triggered under even more specific conditions. Furthermore, for some of the other services, where there is more advanced documentation, a basic, simplistically-oriented auxiliary documentation would be very useful for new users. I created a status page to show my monitors and heartbeats in a single overview. I wanted to use a custom domain which was supported, but it took them 6 weeks to apply a certificate. Even implemetation was super easy as I just followed the given API doc and was able to get all the logs I needed with customizable options in logger for my application hosted somewhere else.

One small thing we've noticed is that the initial setup, though mostly straightforward, could be a bit easier for those who are new to similar tools - but I guess it is made for technical persons (what we are, so it was easy). The all-in-one approach offered by Better Stack is convenient. You get out-of-the box external monitoring includins a public status page and incident management, as well as a log monitoring and metrics collection platform with alerting. It's simple to use and the setup is much easier than some competing solution. Customer support has a short turnaround time and is friendly. Better Stack is still incomplete compared to competitors on the logs/metrics side. Setting up metrics from logs is not user-friendly, and the usage of SQL for complex analysis is a nice idea in theory but makes things complex in practice. It's still a long way from Splunk's or Grafana's ease-of-use on that side.
