"Great product for the value"
What do you like best about Backlog?

As a small organization, cost was a major factor in our choice to use backlog. There are more feature-rich solutions out there, but those solutions cost 5 to 10 times more.

With that said, the simplicity of backlog has it's advantages, including that it's easy to transition people who aren't familiar with product management software because there aren't loads of options and the software doesn't require extensive training. It's also generally easy to navigate, and Nulab seems to be adding more and more features that we enjoy taking advantage of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Backlog?

Simplicity is a two-sided coin - while it's nice for new users, it's a problem as we get more familiar with the software and run into it's limitations. It would be nice to be able to move issues from one project to another, to create user groups who are not allowed to create issues, to require fields when creating tickets, etc etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple project management platform"
What do you like best about Backlog?

As a project manager who has to manage multiple projects at a time, I appreciate Backlog's integrated dashboard to have a good glance of projects at a single stop. I love the centralized dashboard that I can switch from one project to another. Backlog also offers integration with Slack that I can track the latest updates without logging into the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Backlog?

I have a little complaint to Backlog for its project management features, yet I would be even happier if I could have more selection for integration options. Currently, Backlog offers integration with Slack and Chatwork. If you are using Teams, Yammer, and other communication platforms, there is no native connector available. "An excellent online project management software"
What do you like best about Backlog?

In this pandemic era, everyone is moving forward to remote working and working from home. First of all, the best option is to select an online project management tool accessible to everyone quickly. Additionally, Backlog has the most attractive and prominent features in its user interface, which will make life easier for all the developers and project managers. The best part I see in this software is that flexible and highly responsive Gantt charts and boards. We can easily edit durations, timelines and even change the status of a task with just drag and drop. This saves a lot of time when compared to other ordinary project management software that has irresponsive Gantt charts and boards. Plus, we can integrate the notifications to other messaging software to get notified whenever there is an update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Backlog?

Backlog only allows creating two levels of parent-child tasks. However, we would need to further divide the subtasks in order to keep track of the progress. Additionally that, Backlog does not have the the capability to track time spent on subtasks separately. Therefore we see a drawback in the time tracking and team management features of this software. I see some restriction in file management because there is a size limit as 10 MB of a single file to be uploaded. This is quite ok for documentation and other information. but not as a full base of all project files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"After months using free version for 1 project we successfully moved to paid version for all projects"
What do you like best about Backlog?

Easy to setup and use including graphic differentiation and access rights for individual projects (customer logo and colors).

No training required for users in our company who adopted this tool very fast.

In addition, GantChart is really usable with several options for grouping, automatic issue creation from email is also useful to support our clients and track how our internal specialists perform. Internal wiki is also used in our company to document not only the knowledges and technical information to be shared with others in the team, but also the meeting minutes related to our projects - everything stored and available in one place.

The mobile application also works as expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Backlog?

It is not possible to create links/relations in GantChart helping to display dependencies and reschedule the project tasks when something happen - now all issues have to be moved manually.

Navigation in wiki would be enhanced little bit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Backlog?

The free version has all of the tools available that a ticketing portal could offer. It's very user friendly and greatly assists with maintaining organization and deadlines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Backlog?

The free version limits some capabilities such as storage capacity but there are many ways to avoid uploading files directly to Backlog Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A very nice product, simple to learn and use. Some QoL improvements missing"
What do you like best about Backlog?

The issues table is very concise, and displays all the information you would want in order to quickly prioritize issues. Moving issues between milestones is very nice, especially the option to bulk edit them to e.g. close them once a sprint is finished. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Backlog?

There's a lot of page reloads, instead of just fetching and displaying data. Subtasking is messy, and not all that useful since they exist as separate issues anyway, having some kind of "super task" visible which hides subtasks would make managing projects easier, since one can stop considering all the child issues by themselves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hi all, I do not seem to find a way to track actual time spent for subtasks in Backlog. Is there any workaround you all have figured out?
