What do you like best about BackBox?

The most notable attribute about BackBox is how we can ensure consistency in all network devices. We have an automated process that keeps everything aligned and instead of having to manually backup configurations or getting tripped up by not having something in the particular timeframe, it saves that work. This cuts out human error and prevents our security policies from being tampered with. It has also come in handy due to the ability to instantly escape to a previous configuration when unexpected issues arise, which saves for hours of troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

The main frustrating part about BackBox is that when it can’t backup the same way across vendors sometimes a restore gets complicated. Things have slowed us down since we’ve had to spend extra time making sure the settings are applied correctly. In addition some automaton features haven’t been fully automated yet requiring that you manually turn certain things on to allow for perfect hands free management (minus a bit of manual intervention). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

With the availability of instant access to the last backups, BackBox has made network failures manageable by reducing their time to recovery. We can quickly restore configurations and services will run. It also makes sure all network devices follow the same rules so that the change of policies can’t create a security gap in programming. That being said, thanks to this, our team spends less time fixing problems and more time working on improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BackBox?

Automatic backup feature in BackBox helps our organization largely. The manual backups of our systems consumed a huge amount of IT team time, and the system saves time and reduces the risk of data loss. This flexibility in scheduling allows us to perform the backups at times when there is no operation, so that we do not interrupt the operation. The rollback system allows the quick recovery of the system in case of any errors by automatically restoring the old system states. This solution made backup management system simpler and more reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

Sometimes we experience some disruption to our work routine due to the backup process being occasionally longer than expected. System interface works but the system requires an updated design to provide a better user experience. However, despite other considerations, these problems remain minor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

BackBox made a huge impact on our procedures for data maintenance and disaster response activities. Previously we have wasted too much time getting authorizations for email or getting physical system backup done. We use instantaneous approval process and automatic backups now and can allocate all time on core tasks because of it. The roll back feature makes the system problems fixable and thus allow users to carry out smooth operations. This system is very important to our IT setup as it works with a very good service and operational efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BackBox?

The BackBox system simplifies both infrastructure supervision and protection tasks. Our team uses three hours of saved work time each week through BackBox automation which handles recurring activities between vulnerability assessments and patching and configuration management. Our security data from the reporting tool enables us to make informed security choices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

The system requires additional development work on several aspects. The interface sometimes experiences problems which cause buttons to malfunction or screen freezes to happen briefly. The backup restoration system should have better clarity as a few team members struggle to comprehend its logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

The security and compliance tasks become simpler when we use BackBox software. Our team previously performed manual system maintenance for many hours until we started using BackBox. Through automation technology we can accomplish these tasks at higher speed and precision compared to manual methods. System updates now complete much faster due to advancements in patch management technology. We spent several days on manual fix deployments yet BackBox speeds up this process to only require several hours. The automated system both saves our time and protects our security infrastructure from threats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BackBox?

BackBox is the most valuable offering in terms of the capability to automatically back up various network devices and systems. It integrates really well with our other network management tools and we don’t now need to manually track or schedule any backups. One thing we’ve realized is that we can now do strategic things and let automation handle the mundane backup work. Additionally, it’s nice to be able to monitor everything you have in all in one centralised dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

There are some problems with BackBox, and one of these is of the setup type, which may take time to get through especially for those with little knowledge on network backup. The documentation is rather slightly confused at some points so that the persons who are going to use the application for the first time will have some problems to get started. Sometimes, however, it has made it less efficient at introducing it to various teams or departments, resulting in more assistance and problem solving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has saved us a ton of time automating the backup process across our network with Backbox. That’s eliminated the risk that backups would be missed. With everything mapped out on a schedule and all on one central system now, we haven’t seen so much disruptions to our workflow. But it’s especially handy because we’re getting more peace of mind in knowing that our data is regularly backed up without having to bother constantly over manual stuff. What do you like best about BackBox?

I like most BackBox’s proactive approach to its backup management. The software itself doesn’t just automate the backups, it automatically updates them regularly without us needing to do anything. It’s especially useful if you’re managing lots of systems and also helps minimize the chance of backup failures. I also like that it eases my mind over the status of backups, by reminding me about it. With BackBox I know our systems are always protected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

One problem I have with BackBox is that it does not always optimize the backup function for all the devices in the same way. Naturally, when it comes to some of the older systems, the overall setup can seem somewhat complicated. However while these controls are relatively new, one has to invest considerable time in order to get everything working hitherto in the older equipment, which is highly time consuming especially where time is of essence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problem at hand that BackBox is addressing is the issue of unreliable back up. It also makes a backup totally automated, so it is always the latest version without someone having to manually update the procedure. This has minimized cases of data loss thereby saving our team a lot of time that could have been used in other tasks. We don’t have to be concerned about backup problems anymore and our data is stored safely at this step for sure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BackBox?

What I find most appealing in BackBox is the capacity of running network devices backup in an automated way. As for the integrated tools, it is fully compatible with the existing network management tools which simplifies its setup and installation process. Oh yeah, it performs compliance audits regularly – a plus that guarantees our security. The usability level is high and therefore we spend less time at capturing the routine work and more time on unique challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

The biggest disadvantage that can be pointed at BackBox is that the reporting options should be more flexible. At times I have a little challenge in producing report exactly as i wish with the contents which can sometimes hamper the auditing session. Further, like practically in all the tools, its interface is rather easy to use but it seems to be a bit outdated as it is not as user friendly as it could sometimes appear. Some of these are minor but can be problematic; they cause time inefficiencies particularly where I am busy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

Really, BackBox has boosted our efficiency in the way we backup our network devices since we have had to avoid numerous manual interactivities. Now, we have no fear of lost backups and constant audits also so it is really secure for us. This has given the team an opportunity to work on better projects and has boosted efficiency and effectiveness having less time to spend on mundane jobs such as general upkeep. What do you like best about BackBox?

The thing I like most about BackBox is that it automates network backups and server configuration management. It saves us time by taking away those manual processes and helping with compliance because we can track the change so we know we’re secure and up to date. With the integration with SolarWinds, we are now able to monitor and manage networks better. We also use it to help reduce downtime during maintenance periods allowing us to maintain smooth operations without disruption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

I dislike BackBox for its outdated user interface which makes it hard to navigate from one place to another. Besides, the reporting features are really limited because they can’t be customized to specific requirements. Sometimes these issues slow us down when we need to churn out detailed insights to stakeholders or solve problems quickly. Additionally, you have to spend further effort on the onboarding stage since the interface is not efficient for users to pick up quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

With BackBox, we can proactively get alerted and much more about potential network issues, with the ability to automatically backup to prevent data corruption. The practice ensures that misconfigurations which were a recurring challenge are mitigated against, and also ensures compliance with industry standards. A considerable boost to our team’s intra team productivity and focus has been the time saved on troubleshooting and the routine tasks we won’t need to do. And it also makes IT and management communication more clear and accessible through accessible reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BackBox?

The best thing about BackBox is how it virtualizes the network and device backups. It guarantees that we have our up to date configurations stored safely so when we have to deal with outages or upgrades, we can have our configs down. Very flexibility and reporting feature enable to know system health. That we integrate it with our network monitoring tools, which makes troubleshooting faster, not to mention more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

Handling very large scale networks sometimes becomes difficult for BackBox. During a longer backup operations, our system slows down and reduces productivity at critical maintenance windows. The latter, however, also feels dated, with a user interface that is functional but dated — it feels less intuitive than we’ve come to expect in other platforms. Overall usability of such a large scale environments varies according to these drawbacks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

BackBox allows us do all this by automating compliance checks and minimizing manual intervention in device management. It’s a backup and recover system that allows businesses to go on smoothly when such surprises happen. This has reduced the number of configuration changes that we had to make to keep our network in working order, and allowed us to put more energy into maximizing how it works. This is an important element of our disaster recovery strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BackBox?

While there are many other scheduler out there, BackBox is unique for it’s automation and robust scheduling features. Once it has been configured, we never need to think about missing backups or not having configured to do regular ones. Since we can rely on it without constant oversight, it has become indispensable to always keep our network devices protected. It is also flexible given our multi device environment due to its wide device compatibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

BackBox is generally not bad, just the backup of large or old devices can take longer than you expect. This particularly shows when network connections are slow, thereby delaying complete backup process. A drawback is without that detail to report what error was made, troubleshooting becomes that much harder when something breaks while performing the backup. The interface could also be a little bit more intuitive for new users, which would make it a bit easier to manage backups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using BackBox we have faced the problem of managing backups of all the network devices and BackBox simply does this for us, which saves us lot of time. This guarantees that back ups are always current to avoid the cases of knowledge leak and also minimize the prospect of network break down. It cannot be denied as well that such automation assists us in maintaining compliance to internal data protection policies while not have to bother about backup tasks in other core areas of our business. What do you like best about BackBox?

I must say, BackBox, in my opinion, the best feature is how it deals with the scheduling of the backup and restore features simplifying our network efficiency. The scheduling capabilities and detailed logging are useful to keep us informed on all the work done, and increase transparence for the disaster recovery. This is advantageous as it ensures we are always ready for any unravelled problem in the networks for we are just a click away from reconfiguring them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BackBox?

I’ve noticed one disadvantage that is implemented in BackBox, concerning reporting – it is not very flexible and not very detailed as well. This has made it difficult for us to produce fine grained data for our analysis, hampering our capacities to monitor trends and detect issues within the network backlog. Increased flexibility in reporting values would be a great advantage for monitoring recovery efficiency and dealing with new problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BackBox solving and how is that benefiting you?

With BackBox, the bane of manual and inconsistent network backups is effectively solved by automating the whole process. This has taken out the risk of human error and makes sure that we don't lose our network configs either now or in the future. Having automated the process has freed up a lot of time as a benefit that allows us to devote more time to more strategic projects and has also increased our readiness in terms of compliance with consistent back up scheduling.
