Cove Data Protection impressed us with its speedy setup process. From initiating the service to starting our first backup, the entire process took less than 30 minutes—a remarkable turnaround time. The system itself is also fairly intuitive, making it user-friendly even for those less familiar with data protection solutions. One standout feature is the granularity offered for restoring data, which provides a high level of control and flexibility when retrieving specific files or information. While there isn’t much to criticize, there are a couple of areas for improvement. The user interface could benefit from some modernization and refinement to enhance overall usability. Additionally, we encountered a few isolated issues where a single problematic file caused backups to stall for several days. Cove Data Protection is a very straight forward backup solution that enables us to implement backup agents easily. We are able to monitor the backups from a daily backup report, in event of an issue we have been able to speak to an experienced engineer to get the issue resolved.

There are several things that I like about Cove! Cove only takes minutes to deploy after initial customer setup. The viewing of data reports is extremely detailed yet easy to understand. File restoration and image resotration is a breeze and has been 100% reliable when we've had to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only downside I've had to get used to is that there is not real local backup although you backup as a mirror of the cloud backup, onto a local Nas device. My other issue that is related to this is that being the "local" is a 100% mirror of what is in the cloud, it can often take up your enitre local nas storage space. And data rentention times can not be configured separately (not 1 year cloud or 90 days local etc). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The 365 backup lacks the ability to export the data locally or to another tenant, however this is something that is already on their roadmap and I am eagerly awaiting the release Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

User interface is simple to understand, options are easy to see where to click to access the option or information you need.

Creating scheduled reports requires first setting up a custom view then adding the custom view to a scheduled report and can be a bit confusing if multiple customers are backed up to remember to drill down into a specific customer before creating view Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Having used Cove in a previousl employment, I've been looking a solution that just works, and doesn't cost the earth. As a new start we've viewed numeroous products for endpoint backups, and here we are back at Cove. It's simple, efficent, cheap and just works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This product is super easy to install and maintain. Super light weight. Forget every other backup I've ever worked with. Most important it works! We had a compromised server restored as VM to a temporary host up and running in just hours, and most of that time was the speed of the download! (Local speed vault copy was also compromised otherwise it would have been even faster!) As the client watched their server get boxed up and sent to their cyber insurance forensics team we arrived with their recovered server! The archiving feature is great! However, one may need to restart a backup in order to reduce over backup size after long periods of time. There is not a way to trim the oldest archives away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It stands out for its backup testing feature, which can be automated to ensure reliability. The ability to create a standby image for rapid restores is a game-changer, minimizing downtime during emergencies. It’s also incredibly easy to use and deploy, taking only a few minutes to set up. Easy to use, easy to train my techs how to use and troubleshoot. The dashboard is sleek and helpful. Support is helpful, quick, and easy to talk to. I like that it is tightly integrated into N-Central, unlike EDR. You can see the status of a device's backups from the device view, without being in the Cove dashboard.
