It's very simple once you understand the terminology, Almost everything you could need help with is covered on their help site. It can be as hands-on or hands-off as you choose. They really leave it up to the customer to decide what level you want to be at. Do you want to be responsible for entering credit card information so you can keep track of your customer base or who has a credit card on file or would you rather set up a gateway and allow the customer to enter all their information? You have the choice to do one or both of these things at any time while using Authorize.net. You can charge a credit card and get immediate approval or rejection or you can set it up to process all credit card transactions at the end of the day. The turn around is very quick as well. The transactions can be broken up if you're not careful so you will have to be aware of that if you have prepared a deposit for a batch of credit card charges when looking for the corresponding deposit, If you deposit some before your cut off time and some after that will appear as two or more separate deposits in your bank account. This relevant to my company because we have to record the credit card processing fee Authorize.net charges as soon as we receive the deposit and this can be tricky when I have several deposits in the bank but they are combined in my system. I like the option to process payments and review payment very easily. I like that there is the option to void payments and refund payments. and that we can search payments using multiple options. I dont like that payments cannot be searched after a few months. there should be unlimited amount of time where payments can be accessed and viewed by searching the credit card number. I dont like that some fields are not the same when processing payments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Authorize.net is a phenomenal payment based program. It allows the employees to be able to take and refund payments with an ease. In Authorize.net you can easily locate and make payments when needed. It is enjoyable that when a payment is refunded, Authorize.net does not allow you to refund that same payment more than once. The system is very high functioning and secured. Since using Authorize.net I have not experienced an issue with the program. It is a program/system that functions as expected. Authorize.net meets the direct requirements of the payment operating system. The uses of Authorize.net can be easily located. I like that AuthNet is simple to set up and provides all the basic tools that a business owner needs to collect payment anywhere. I am able to process a card, set up a card to process, delay the process but capture the information, set up recurring billing, organize accounts and subscriptions into groups and categories, and export data for further organization. One thing I dislike about AuthNet is that I am unable to add a second notification email on the account. One person receives the email notification right now, and it would be helpful if more than just one person could be notified when a transaction comes through. I also dislike that sometimes for no apparent reason, cards are declined. Sometimes it takes one or two tries to get a card to process, and nothing seems to be the problem with the info we are entering. It also lacks in basic reporting. Some functions are difficult to find and it takes some knowledge about basic merchant terms to find what you are looking for. But once you get the hang of it, it is simple. I also don't like that there is a 120 day window in which you can process refunds, and processing the refund is complicated. Exported csv's are sometimes inconsistent though I'm not sure if that's an Authorize.Net issue or a back-end issue for our website. Though for the same report I can have two different outcomes so I assume it is Authorize.Net. Makes it time-consuming to clean up data before doing any sort of formula work or analyses.
