"Incredible. Premium quality in a free one."
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

It is software that is easy to obtain, simple to install, and offers a myriad of functions that are not even provided by others at a cost. Being free not only saves us an expense, but it is also widely distributed software, making it easy to find usage tutorials on various video platforms. Another feature to highlight is its versatility with formats, which makes me use it very frequently to enhance all kinds of audio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Its aesthetic looks a bit old-fashioned, however, I like that it doesn't change much, as I work faster since I already know its structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very basic software for beginnners"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

I like the comfort and easyness. It is very easy to remove noise and edit your audios. Anyone can operate this software without any knowledge. It gives you full control to manually edit your voice like a pro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

There should be some Ai feature which can make the process more easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easiest audio software to use"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

It's free! Also, it does 90% of things that any other audio editor does. Features are easily laid out and easy to access. You can get up and running on this within an hour with a couple of youtube tutorials. We use it every week for our videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

The interface is a bit dated, but it's understandable because the functionality is amazing. It's kind of a good thing, actually, because you don't have to re-orient yourself to the program with each update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Decent tool for Podcast Editing and Basic Music Mixing. Unsuitable at an Intermediate/Advanced Level"
3/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Audacity is a great tool to edit podcasts with noise cancellation, and for basic sound and music editing. Can easily mix multiple tracks and adjust tempo, pitch, cut and paste the sounds to make it complete etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

The user interface is not at all user friendly. Audacity does not have a lot of features required for proper audio mixing and mastering, and even the existing features are not easy to find because of the poor user interface. For example, audio automation, automation for panning to adjust settings within a single track is not possible. Not an easy tool to use. Cannot import a file which is not in mp3 format. What do you dislike about Audacity?

The layout of the buttons could be a little more user friendly but it still works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Audacity is ok for beginners starting out and learning how to edit audio."
2.5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

I like the fact that Audacity is free and easy for audio editing, however, there are some things about it that we would need to do in order to make it a great tool for producing our own music. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

I dislike the fact that you have to insert your own plugins in order to make it more like music production software, but it'd still a good start for beginners. I started using Audacity in 2010 and ever since then I have learned how to mix and master music. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and Fun: Audacity - Your Best Free Audio Editor"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

The user interface is incredibly sleek and fascinating! Once I received a bit of assistance regarding terminology and utilizing this software for my voice-over needs, I was thoroughly impressed with its potential! Experimenting with and refining the audio I upload is quite enjoyable! I also adore the additional section at the conclusion that prompts if you desire to expand upon the details of your exported files. This feature aids me in maintaining comprehensive records and recalling my prior auditions much more effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

It's possible that there's something I haven't uncovered yet, but I find it a bit tedious to navigate back to the initial part of a file. I desire a return to the beginning option for an audio track. Presently, I work with relatively brief tracks, but I would appreciate the ability to conveniently go back to the start for more seamless adjustments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The classic open source audio editing software that's got a tough learning curve but lots of power"
5/5
What do you like best about Audacity?

Audacity's jam-packed with features, and it's free. I've used it to reduce noise, improve "click" for ASMR, limit peaks, and even convert mp4s to mp3 without significant quality loss. That's pretty good for free software, and I haven't even scratched the surface of its abilities in 10+years of using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

It took me a REALLY long time to understand Audacity and sound editing in general. I'm sure there's software out there that's got a better, more user-friendly UI so users can improve sound quality without becoming sound engineers. I just doubt that software's free.
