Simplicity, and ease of use has been key for using Audacity. Especially for someone who isn't an audio pro, it's been an easy learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm sure it's limited in it's capabilities for a more seasoned professional. It is a little annoying how I usually need to convert my files to wav from m4a each time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Audacity is a simple, easy-to-use, and FREE audio editing program. I use it for both of my shows and prefer it to everything else I have tried. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can get glitchy at times, but the developers fix problems quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The feature I like the most in Audacity is its easy to remove the background noise, just select a small clip of the background so that Audacity can easily detect the particular audio frequency and remove it. It works like a charm and remove the noise within seconds. I also use the audio effect to get the deepen voice by adding base and tribble. Nest part of Audacity is it is free and have the same features like paid one. Easy to download less than 25MB and straight forward installation. Can easily automate some repeated task by macros. It's been 3+ year and still I have not able to find any cons of audacity. Nothing to dislike in Audacity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It helps me mix my music faster and easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hard to collaborate with other people and you need to save it to send it to a friend, it could have something where you can review the music with friends online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Free! Yay! and quite good editor for two tracks for basic editing. I use it with Fruity Loops 20. I like that it has a simple interface, decent work flow for editing and good sound quality with recording tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not as useful for beats as fl20, but they work in combination well. Some editing takes longer to do than if you know what you are doing in something like logic pro, but logic pro costs money and has a steeper learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It supports multiple audio formats and allows me to perform various editing tasks, such as cutting, copying, and pasting audio sections, adjusting volume levels, applying numerous effects and filters, removing background noise, and more. This is what I like best about Audacity Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The one thing that I can say need improvement is it's visual. There are other software with better and more polished graphical interfaces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Audacity lets me record audio directly through my computer's microphone or other input sources. I can control the recording parameters, such as sample rate and bit depth, to achieve the desired quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Audacity's compatibility with specific audio formats or codecs can sometimes be limited. This could result in difficulties when importing or exporting files in particular forms, especially those that are proprietary or less commonly used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that audacity is lightweight, easy to use and to the point. It is not bloated with unnecessary features. It is fast and has all the right tools to do quick edits to your audio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't particularly appreciate that audacity is limited regarding live previews of the effects you apply. You can only hear the preview before using it for a limited time. And there is no way to disable the feature on the go as the audio is permanently changed when you apply it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Besides being a free product, Audacity is a relatively quick and lightweight application that gets the job done without getting mired in extra little-used features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since Audacity is freeware, the support services are different and more self-serve than a paid software product. This is typically not an issue depending on the ability of the user to find solutions if a problem arises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its so easy to use you can teach yourself. It's truly brilliant, fast, simple and free. It takes no time to load and learn and you can create podcasts in minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. It's literally perfect. There isn't anything I would change about audacity. However, I have seen very little benefit from the updates released recently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
