I created a screen capture using the built in Mac recorder and pasted into the new project. Descript reviewed my soundless screen recording, and described the entire process with only one small edit of the script it generated, no need for Claude in this process. It could not have been more intuitive. It was incredibly fast, and the product is incredibly inexpensive. At the moment there isn't an easy way to pull all those selects in Descript, so I kind of just have to go digging through the transcript until I find all of them again. Also, the transcriptions are super accurate- not all the time, but most of the time. Underlord is cool and helps out a lot when you're in a pinch. The software is affordable; I really appreciate that I don't have to pay an arm and a leg to use a great AI tool. The software performs really well, and it's quite responsive. Service support is amazing. I ran into an issue a month ago, and the service team helped me out real quick. **What do you dislike about Descript?** The cutting tool or blade in this case is not very accurate; it annoys me, but it's fine. Often times the sound is not available to regenerate new content. The promises were unmet, and the AI tool Underlord -- well, it lives up to its name. **What do you dislike about Descript?** The AI Avatar/Underlord features are unreliable and the support process for resolving billing issues caused by those failures is worse. I spent days trying to produce one usable video. Underlord gave contradictory instructions throughout — each suggested fix created a new problem. AI credits were charged for Avatar generations that never completed. I brought in an outside AI consultant for a full day of dedicated work, and even she couldn't produce a working result on the platform. Support did acknowledge the failures initially: they processed a $400 refund and offered an additional $545.48, which I accepted in writing. The $400 arrived. You will be lost in menus for hours trying to do the most basic things, like adding two clips together and exporting, or simply applying a background. Much older tools are in fact far more intuitive, i.e. iMovie. It's an incredibly frustrating user experience. I would suggest their team find a new user and watch them try to figure out the platform to see just how painstaking it is. The best part for me is the transcript feature, it converts whatever I speak in video into text and the accuracy is quite good. I can edit my video just by editing the text, which really saves time in my daily work. In my routine I handle diet guidance, manage a homeopathy clinic and also create health education content, so I make videos for teaching and patient explanation. I use it regularly. I'm a fan of the recording feature and all of the effects it provides. The suggestions, including translation, are really cool features. The effects and suggestions are really quickly present inside the app, making it very easy to use. Whether I want to apply a particular effect or do some rough cuts for my podcast, it's all accessible from a simple drop-down. It's what I needed to do (without knowing I needed to do it). Easy, fast and great results. **What do you dislike about Descript?** Haven't used it long enough to complain (but give me time...) **What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?** I needed to edit a full length documentary video down to just select portions of narration. Descript transcribed the video, and all I had to do was edit out the sections w/o narration and export the final draft. Worked like a charm. ### 42. There are also many editing options to improve it. Being able to export it is also a very good point. It has really helped my students improve their speaking because they can check which words they are not pronouncing well but also, once they look at the transcript, can really check their grammar and plan ahead for future assessments. **What do you dislike about Descript?** It is not that intuitive at first. I would like to be able to do groups but never managed to figure out if it is an option. **What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is really hard to provide specific speaking feedback to the students once the activity is over. With Descript, students can listen to their own recordings and can read what they have said. It really helps them realise where they need to improve. Sometimes is pronunciation, so they highlight the words Descript couldn't understand and practice saying them. Other times is lack of grammar or sentence structure. In that case, I use the transcripts and have them rewrite it as if it was a writing assessment. This way they realise how much they could have done and practice for future tasks. ### 45. Smart transitions being added automatically sucks. Remove that as being the default option please. Lots of issues with layers. The transcription is very touch and go and many times its impossible to edit words if a word is wrong. **What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?** Transcription is more accurate but still plays up all the time.
