Audacity is a perfect tool for Sound Designing; let me tell you why:
-Be it for a professional or a beginner, this software has all the tools you need for your next sound design
-It is straightforward to use. You can install the software, and you'll get familiar with it.
-many plugins are available for Audacity over the Internet, so you don't need to do everything by yourself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well, every good thing has some nasty side as well:
-The user interface of the software could have been better, in my opinion; it looks like software from the 90s while using
-sometimes, it doesn't perfectly remove noise from background
other than that this software has no issues with it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Background noise removal and attaching two or more audio clips are the best part of audacity software. I enjoyed recording and editing my audio clips and connecting it to the presentations and eLearning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing to dislike in this software, and it works as you want. All the features that look for are available in the software for audio recording and editing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is very smooth and intriguing! Once I got a little guidance on terminologies and how to use this program for my needs in voice-acting, I was pleased with what it's capable of! Messing with and cleaning up the audio I submit is rather fun! I also love the added tab at the end that asks if you want to extend the details of your files when exporting. This helps me keep things noted and remember my previous auditions a lot better Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This may be something that I haven't discovered yet, but when I'm going back to the beginning of a file, it's a little time-consuming to do so. I wish there was a ''jump back to the start'' of an audio track. Right now, I create rather short tracks but I'd like to be able to head back to the beginning to make adjustments a bit easier. The best thing about Audacity is its price. The second best thing is the feature set. Just because it is free does not mean it isn't powerful.
Audacity does for sound what PhotoShop does for pictures and images.
Install the package, set up audio output, and within minutes you can be recording and editing any audio.
If you plug in a microphone, you can edit that. Or, begin with a WAV file or an MP3.
Audacity can also utilize plugins for effects to shape vocals or instrument tracks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Audacity doesn't work with MIDI files or MIDI instruments (such as keyboards). But, if the keyboard sends audio (e.g., a digital piano), you can record and edit that audio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best things about Audacity are that it is free and cross-platform. I can use it on my Mac and PC and it provides the same familiar UI on both. It's pretty obvious how the basic features work and it does what I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI is pretty ugly. I bet I have used Audacity on and off for over 20 years and it looks almost the same as when I started. It would be nice if there was an option to apply skins or at least a dark mode. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the extensive and easy to use toolset that Audacity has to offer. And the price is free, so you can't NOT use it. I think it's one of the best audio programs out there, considering the price and effects library. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the GUI could use a massive update. I think it not being as flashy as other audio editing programs might put people off, and make them think that it's outdated, even though it's powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's easy to trim videos and audio files and cut them to share specific snips of it with certain clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the scroll bar to trim at a specific moment doesn't toggle properly and it takes a few attempts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Audacity is one of the simplest but most powerful tools I have ever used. It has all the features that paid one provides. The best part of Audacity is Macros. I have created multiple Macros that help me partially automate my task. Like In just one click, I can apply all the filters with specific values. It works like magic. Macro saves me lots of time. It has a feature that detects the background noise and removes it from the audio. Audacity performs well; till now, I have not felt any performance issue. As compared to the other software, its size and installation process is straight forward. I love Audacity because it's free; no business licensing is required to use it. I have not found any issue in Audacity. It helps me do all of my tasks effortlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
