Compiere is somewhat obsolete. It has a strong but peculiar architecture, and devs need to learn it from scratch in order to make changes and improvements. Also on large scale scenarios its performance decays. Adding new modules is possible but is not the easiest and there are other more modern options that are more suitable for this. The screens and navigation are very simple to follow. There aren't a ton of drop down menus needed to get to the information you need, like SAP or NS. Once you use the system for a couple of hours, you can do 90% of your job without more training, making it easy to train others.
