What I like best about Apify is its ease of use. The no-code interface makes it incredibly accessible, even for those without technical expertise. Additionally, the pre-built actors simplify the web scraping process, allowing you to quickly gather data without the need for complex coding. It’s a highly scalable solution that can handle both small and large scraping tasks efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike about Apify is the limited storage on the free plan, which can be restrictive for users running multiple large-scale scraping tasks. Additionally, while the platform is user-friendly, some parts of the interface could be more intuitive, especially for those new to web scraping. Lastly, for very complex or large-scale projects, advanced features like IP rotation and rate-limiting controls could be more customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about Apify is the selection of scrapers. Social networks, search engines, database websites (like yellowpages), can all be scraped with simple-to-use scrapers that export data succinctly. There are also a lot of choices for proxies that Apify provides making scraping reliable. Scraper bot/script builders have many different ideas that all contribute to this platform which is great as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tedious nature of having to reload your cookies (for sites that require login) every time. Can also be waiting for support for extremely long periods (days on end, but they have since added AI chat support that helps alleviate this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Ease of use and implementation. I select an Actor in the Store, connect it via API to Make.com or n8n, and test the automation. Then I just forget about it.
- It just works. I actually don't need to check or enter their UI, unless I have another amazing research idea and I need another automation.
- It helps with massive-scale research on startups and growing companies that we're doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm really trying hard to think and write at least 'anything' in this section.
Well, the UI could be more modern :)
But it's not a blocker, for sure. In fact, it's really cool that you don't even need Apify's UI in your everyday work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how quickly I can get a new crawler up and running. The scheduling features let me automate tasks so I can focus on other projects, and the documentation is clear enough that I rarely get stuck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There’s not much to dislike. Occasionally I wish there were more granular pricing tiers for smaller projects, but it’s a minor point given how much value Apify provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Previously, I've tried other scraping platforms, and they're either too cumbersome, expensive, or have limited capabilities for free or individual users. I instantly fell in love with Apify for its ease of use and flexible, transparent pricing models. I literally had scrapers running and integrated with my applications in minutes, and I understood clearly how much the scraping cost. Also, Apify's customer support is quick to respond and helpful.
The whole interface is really helpful with brilliant monitoring, verbose logging, graphical displays of scraping runs, operations, data, and multiple ways to configure your actors and runs. The selection of pre-built scrapers is vast, and I've seen it steadily increasing as I've used the platform. It has great, easy integration with make.com and webhooks. Sometimes, some actors are too expensive or have monthly subscription fees associated with them, but that's not a problem with the platform. I haven't really run into any problems with the platform that would lead me to dislike it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Apify stands out as an exceptional web scraping and automation platform that offers developers and businesses a robust toolkit for data extraction. The platform's most compelling features include:
Versatile Scraping Capabilities: Ability to extract data from virtually any website with minimal coding
Extensive Actor Marketplace: Over 3,000 pre-built scrapers ready for immediate use
Cloud-Based Infrastructure: Seamless scalability and no local setup required
Multi-Language Support: Compatible with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
Powerful Integration Options: Easy connection with tools like Zapier and Google Sheets Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Despite its strengths, Apify has some limitations:
Steep Learning Curve: Requires technical knowledge to fully utilize advanced features
Pricing Can Be Complex: Different pricing tiers might confuse new users
Occasional Performance Inconsistencies: Some actors may not work perfectly every time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Apify is how quickly you can go from idea to working data extraction. The platform makes it super easy to build, test, and schedule scrapers without needing to manage infrastructure. I also really appreciate the marketplace of prebuilt actors — many common scraping needs are already covered, saving tons of time. The combination of proxy support, scheduling, and clear usage tracking gives you a lot of control and flexibility, especially for recurring jobs. For someone with a developer background, it strikes a great balance between ease of use and powerful customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike about Apify is that handling complex websites with strong anti-bot protections (like CAPTCHA, Cloudflare, or dynamic loading behind login walls) can get tricky and sometimes unreliable. While it’s possible to script around these using Puppeteer or Playwright, it requires a deeper level of technical effort and trial-and-error. Also, the pricing can add up quickly if you’re running high-volume tasks or using residential proxies. It would be great to see more tools or guidance for overcoming advanced bot defenses and optimizing resource usage for more cost-effective runs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UI is looking well, UX is really comfortable and easy to navigate. If you are a web scrapers developer, Apify makes your life easier, they provide really helpfull tools (crawlee), and the platform is made for web scraping, so its easy to work with the scraped data afterwards. If you are not a developer, you can choose from many web scrapers on the marketplace. Its easy to integrate with other services and apps, mainly the data exporting part. Pricing is okay. Nothing, except one thing from developer perspective. I kind of miss the abillity to build my own docker images (of actors) which I can then run on the apify platform. But thats not a really big deal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are essential super-helpful actors , now I lost access to them! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No support (don't include Discord as "support")
These unneeded actors max out my account. There are only 1 or 2 actors that have a delete or remove option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
APIFY provides the exact service that it says it does. And, it does it well, it's well priced and offers a good selection of pre-made 'actors', as well as the functionality to create, host and sell your own Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I knew what APIFY was about before I used the service (it's aimed at more advanced internet users), so it's not something I actively dislike but if I have to say something negative it would be that sometimes it takes a while for the creator of an actor to reply when reached out to. But, I understand they're users of the site, not staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
