The best part about airtable is it's customiizable nature. We worked with a tech specialist to configure Airtable to meet our unique needs and it has so far been adaptable to everything we needed it to do. It has a huge capacity in terms of features and we were able to get it up and running in a fairly short period of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are no real downsides except the intial learning curve. I believe we could have built Airtable out as we needed but it would have been a bigger intial time investment. Working with a tech specialist who knew Airtable well really helped us get up and running fast. It was worth the cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With airtable there is very little you cannot do. You can create multiple tables for multiple purposes, and even create your own mini products.
I try to use Airtable as my CRM and my Jira Development tool. It's very easy to implement and use even if you are not a techie person.
I've never had a big doubt with Airtable so I didn't get in touch with Customer support, but I'm sure they will solve correctly.
Every day I learn something about the features and something that I can do with Airtable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'd say that it's quite difficult to get updated about new capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Airtable is a very versatile software program I use for everything in my personal and professional life. I'm a librarian, and while Airtable is often used by people looking for a CRM, HR onboarding/offboarding, or inventory-tracking platform, I use it for planning courses, keeping track of my finances, my leave request documentation, my professional portfolio of resources I have created, research, a database of my high-value items for my home insurance, to name a few uses. It is better than using an Excel or Google Sheets spreadsheet because it is so much easier to link databases and tables, and you can also easily upload files. The automation feature is also much easier and more secure than using scripts. The value compared to Excel and Sheets is incredible. You can also create different views with different permission levels, such as making lists, a gallery view, kanban style, and many more. They also have excellent tutorials to learn some of the more advanced features, both written and video. Their customer service is on point as well. I didn't expect to get helped as fast by sending an email, but they responded immediately, and it was an excellent experience. I really can't live without Airtable. Some sync features are annoying because they are only available through a more expensive subscription. If you are a company, paying extra for the feature probably isn't a big deal, but I am the only one using it, so it is a little out of my budget. Some formatting features, like using colors, are limited, meaning there are only a few colors to choose from. There is also a little bit of a learning curve when using Airtable, but if you can use Excel or Google Sheets, you'll have an easy time learning some of the more robust features of Airtable. One thing I like best about Airtable is its incredible flexibility. I appreciate how it blends the familiarity of a spreadsheet with the power of a database, allowing me to tailor views and workflows to our team’s specific needs. The intuitive drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to organize and visualize data—whether I’m using grid, calendar, or Kanban views. This adaptability has really streamlined our project management and improved team collaboration, making Airtable an essential tool in our daily operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While I appreciate Airtable’s intuitive design and ease of use for everyday projects, I’ve found that it can feel a bit limiting for power users. The platform excels at surface-level tasks and standard workflows, but when it comes to more complex projects, I sometimes wish I had more granular control over the database. It would be great to see options for deeper customization of the data structure and advanced settings, which would allow users with more technical needs to fully tailor the tool to their unique requirements. This solution has become an integral part of every workday. AirTable's ability to covert data from various types of files is key when dealing with department systems. As a fairly new user, this ability has allowed for a smooth and easy onboarding process. Key data to support my role is now loaded and easily organized to drive an understanding of meaningful insights.
It's probably not as important, but the UI customization features related to appearance are more aesthetically pleasing than those I have worked with previously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a new platform user, I find the variety of options for tables, views, and fields a bit overwhelming. It is easy to find them, but implementing those templates correctly can be challenging if you are not 1:1 with the template info. It leaves me feeling like, "I don't know what I don't know."
Also, they recently ended their "Expert Support." I was able to use this service on two different occasions, and both were extremely helpful in helping me feel more confident in my work.
This is likely due to restrictions related to my company's structure, but I am not experiencing any ease of integration currently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Airtable’s flexibility is its biggest strength. We’ve used it for everything from tracking client projects to automating tasks. One standout example was when we set up a custom Stripe integration for a client using Airtable’s scripting and webhook features—it worked perfectly and saved us a lot of time.
Another case was automating reminders and task tracking through Zapier integrations, which reduced manual follow-ups across our team. It’s great that we can use Airtable for both simple task management and more complex workflows, all in one platform. We rely on it daily—it’s become an essential tool for our operations. Some of the advanced setups, like when we configured the Stripe integration or certain automations, took longer than expected because of trial and error. The AI feature, while promising, wasn’t as efficient as we’d hoped—it took a while to get the right prompt for an automation and ended up consuming a lot of Airtable AI credits.
Customer support has been helpful whenever we reached out, but it would be great if they provided more guidance on advanced use cases or setup tips for things like scripting and AI. Additionally, we’ve found the reporting tools a bit limited. More built-in options for creating detailed reports would make Airtable even more valuable for tracking and analyzing data. Airtable is awesome because it combines the simplicity of a spreadsheet with the power of a db as I will say many time, making it easy to use and easy to access. I like becuase:
Customizability: You can create tailored workflows, organize projects, or track data with easily
Collaboration Features: It's great for teams to collaborate in real time with messaging and @'ing people
Ease of Use: The drag-and-drop interface and clean design make it approachable, even for non-technical users (some of my team)
Integrations: It connects with tools like Paperform and Excel
Views: You can switch between grid, Kanban, calendar, gallery, and timeline views depending on your project needs - love this!
Automations: You can set up actions like sending emails, or updating fields automatically. There are others, I just don't use.

3. Pro plan restrictions on some features - ridiculous
4. Crashes rarely - and have to refresh
5. Some advanced fatures are a bit complex too use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AirTable has enabled us to keep all of our data in one place. It was fairly easy to integrate our existing data into one streamlined location, allowing us to be more efficient and keep our information current and easily accessible. Before, we had multiple spreadsheets saved in multiple locations, with multiple people accessing and updating the information. Airtable makes it easy to see our data in a variety of different ways and control who has access to the information as well as their level of access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's taken some time to learn how to use AirTable. I've done a lot of research and watched a bunch of videos. I know there are many resources available on the website, however my organization is different than most of the marketing and customer service type businesses that use AirTable. I work for a food bank and have found it difficult to find specific examples or instructions on how to utilize AirTable in a way that works for our specific needs. If we were an advertising firm, I would have no problem finding tutorials and specific examples of ways to utilize AirTable. It's taken a lot of digging through the resources and searching online to find specific instructions on how to customize our base to make it work the way we need it to, and I know there are so many features that we haven't even discovered yet, it's just a matter of taking the time to do the research. It would be helpful if there was a way to talk to a live person to get support for certain issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a literary agent, what I like best about Airtable is its incredible flexibility and ease of use. It allows me to seamlessly organize and connect all aspects of my business—tracking authors, their publications, royalty reports, payment schedules, book covers, and promotional assets—all in one dynamic platform. The ability to link related records, like an author to their royalty reports or next book ideas to potential comp titles, makes it far more intuitive and powerful than traditional spreadsheets like Excel. Airtable’s visual and customizable interface, combined with its relational database capabilities, helps me brainstorm, plan, and execute with unparalleled efficiency. It's truly a game-changer for managing complex, multi-faceted workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the main limitations I’ve encountered is the pricing structure. My agency is small and I rely on a few external contractors to help run my business, and providing them full access would quickly get expensive. Additionally, creating complex automations or integrations seems to be beyond my know-how at the moment, so I feel like I'm not getting everything AirTable has to offer. I like that Airtable makes linked records and relational databases accessible to users who don't have a data/technical background. I have implemented Airtable systems at several arts organizations I have worked at, and amount of extra tedious work Airtable eliminates always astonishes my colleagues, most of whom simply didn't know what was possible with a tool like Airtable. I also like the versatility of automations and formula fields to further eliminate busywork! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish that there were more formatting options within fields and tables. For instance, it would be great to shade an entire column a specific color, or be able to add color to rich text-enabled long text fields. Also, this particular bugaboo is top of mind because it's the end of the year, but I wish that when typing in "January" in a date field, it would default to the closer January, i.e. January 2025, not January 2024. We have mistakenly had some records disappear into the past because one of our users didn't notice that the date had defaulted to January 2024. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
