What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

I like the fact that Adobe Learning Manager works most like Netflix suggesting courses based on your interest levels. ALM curates a list of courses based on your most preferred domains and interest areas and it helps learners view similar courses that they might like to take.

As a learner, I like the immersive display, gamification leaderboard, skill and badges display, and the ability to choose your preferred language. I also like the feature that a learner can upload the badges directly from ALM to Badgr and display it on LinkedIn. The discussion boards and social learning is also a good feature.

As an admin, I like the ability to add skills and skill levels to courses, assign course credits, and gamification points, the ease of managing (uploading and updating) courses on the LMS, and the experience ALM brings to the learners. ALM also provides a variety of reports ranging from learner transcripts, course reports, utilization reports, and training reports which make it very easier for me to create interactive reports in PowerBI. ALM also provides a PowerBI connection where you can link the reports to Power BI and refresh them in real time. Not only PowerBI but ALM also provides plugins for LinkedIn Learning, Workday, Salesforce, etc. Overall, I had a very positive experience with ALM as an admin as well as a learner. I think ALM is one of the most modern and high-tech LMS in the market right now that is changing the way we administer and consume learning. Also to mention that ALM has an excellent support staff that is very responsive to the queries and suggestions we bring to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

There are a few things that I feel Adobe Learning Manger should improve on. I understand that some of these might be features that are a work in progress as ALM is fairly recent in the market. Here are a few points:

- Course suggestions in the related courses section need to be better and suggest courses that are related to that topic.

- The fluidic player needs to function better. Right now, not possible to skip chapters, tags, etc. Also, need the ability to open the course in a different window with our customizations.

- User audit report and login access report needs to provide better quality data

- Search needs to be better for learners. They should be able to search for courses as well as learning paths without being shown one exclusively.

- As a learner, the immersive view does not provide a dashboard of completion status and overdue courses. The classic view does and I think this feature should be included in the immersive view also.

- Right now, I cannot upload job aids as a zipped folder. If there are many job aids, it is a complete mess (we have over 20 job aids for some technical courses) although we can do this in the resource section, I think this should be provided in the Job aids section too.

- Adobe Learning Manager app is not functioning well - Can't see courses, the dashboard view is cut, can't change profiles (Admin, author, learner), and cannot take courses on the mobile app. I think this is very important since most of our learners prefer to take training on the go. What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

The ability to create custom users within the ALM is a bonus for our teams; I am able to create administrators for specific team content and modify the access based on what is needed. It keeps individuals that are less knowledgeable about the system from being overwhelmed. The ability to have external users and peer accounts are also features that could have been incredibly beneficial had our partner organizations choose to use the ALM. The ALM team is constantly working to modify and update the user expereience based on feedback as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

Because there has been some push back on transitioning to the ALM for some training groups, having the ability as a manager/admin/instructor to upload third party certificates (like Red Cross) to each learners completion task would be helpful. The only way to currently add a file for an employee is 1) the employee does it themselves or 2) an admin must impersonate a user. We also have certain certifications that have a 4 or 5 year life span before needing renewal. So, it would be useful if the ALM tracked certifications that long. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime) solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed a streamlined process on how to track employee learning across our organization. The ALM allows us that opportunity. In addition, it provides a platform that is flexible for our matrix structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

As an Instructor, I'm able to print off a sign-in sheet for participants easily and quickly mark their attendance after the course. As an Administrator, I love the "Impersonate User" option which allows me to help employees troubleshoot issues they bring to me. Sometimes the user just needs a little education on how the LMS works and being able to log in as them helps me figure out what they are seeing on their end so that I can help with a solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

Probably a feature within the Learning Path. I like the option of grouping courses together; however, if someone misses a course, I can't unenroll them becuase it unenrolls them from the path AND the course. If it only unenrolled them from the course, that would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Adobe Learning Manager makes it super simple for employees to extract their own learning transcripts. With hundreds of employees, this definitely saves me time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Adobe Learning Manager provides maximum flexibility and customization to help us develop the system to integrate into our teams with success. Between the various options of learning paths, certifications and more we can more rapidly deploy user trainings successfullly. We can customize it for our industry, which is unique, and allow our internal users to be empowered with their training in a way that fits our company culture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

There is a large learning curve but this is due to the large amount of customization. Not really a dislike but just to be aware that the amount of customization is directly related to the time and set up learning the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Helping us to outline our learning paths and skills and needs. The powerful reporting and dashboards allow us to increase efficiency and be more productive. One of our problems has always been onboarding new employees and managing the training needed for various positions, ALM will solve for all of this and help us to grow with more talented and technical staff. We selected Adobe Learning Manager as our LMS due to customization and flexibility. It's a very robust system, which does require some ramp-up time, but it is working well for us. We use it in conjunction with Adobe Captivate and Adobe Premier Pro, so all the products work well together for our online learning solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

While we are trying to upload the learner details using CSV, if there are some errors with any of the learner we will not get the list of erroneous record together. We have to do the upload the multiple times find the error and then do the re-upload, which is actually difficult. If you can give all the erroneous together that would be easy. What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

Usually everything has a shelf life. Although there are pros and cons in every product, i dont think that Adobe is lacking anywhere. Something that they can do is maybe give trail or free oor student versions as well to people and make it a little less expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

changing the e-mail templates for all courses / certifications in one step;

or also changing these templates individually for courses;

Registration of users is easy;

Videos and tests from the content library can be assigned to any courses and certificates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

It is not possible to change the language by the adminstrators; Users have to do this by themselves - it would be easier, if the language can be set together with other user settings like mail, position and so on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime) solving and how is that benefiting you?

With the online trainings it is much easier to train many users at the same time without much effort in scheduling etc.

These online trainings are also much more comfortable for users, as they can manage their own time to complete the trainings.

From the administrator's point of view it is also a support, because all reminder emails are sent automatically from the system and you don't have to check and write them for each user individually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

To start, I like the simplicity of the user interface. The navigation is straightforward. We rarely have clients getting confused on the site. Love the calendar widget that shows what webinars are coming up so folks can easily sign up for them from the homepage. In terms of the features, there's a great foundation set with gamification, social boards, recommendations, and general learning functionality (webinars, courses, etc.). Also the ability to share links to courses/posts/social boards has been very helpful. As an administrator, I greatly appreciate the approach to role-based permissions rather than customized permissions for individuals. I have worked with other learning management systems that did the latter and it was very difficult to manage and troubleshoot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

It's a good product with a strong trajectory to being great. The homepage and Social boards area could use a facelift to look modern and inviting with wider branding options. Social board features need a revamp on functionality and posting capabilities. For posts, the text should automatically stay saved when switching to add an image or recording. Also, should be able to upload images or add images directly in the post. If possible, the recording functionality should be embedded into the interface rather than being a separate software (ALM Desktop) to download. Being able to subscribe or follow a social board (i.e. get email notifications on new posts) is an absolute must. Leaderboard & Badges should be configurable on the client's end as HTML boxes and the ability to add sections. Use Case - we want to give out swag to those folks who are engaging with the site and consuming the content. But we have no place to outline how our points work and what would be received at various points. Also, a badge for reaching various milestones (i.e. 1,000 or 5,000 points) and an email to the admin would be incredible. It would also be nice if resources were linkable and allowed multiple attachments within one resource. Also, a download option for course content if it's a document or image OR allow multiple attachments/links within the Course (outside of Resources). The search functionality could be improved and the catalog could use a major facelift as well. Filters should all be configurable with the option to select custom user fields. Broader custom reports and dashboard features are needed. Lastly, it's a great product with continuous improvements and enhancements being made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime) solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has boosted client engagement with our client community as a whole. Webinar registrations and attendance have greatly increased. We've been able to use it as a temporary knowledge base and being able to see the data on usage showed us for the first time how much of our content is being consumed. The self-registration along with the back-end registration option has allowed us to meet our clients where they are and have a broader reach. The ability to share links to courses, posts, and social boards have been very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

Adobe has terriffic customer support. They are very responsive to the suggestions to improve the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime)?

It does some things very well. However, it does not provide the basic functions that an LMS should. The system does not propperly support a Prerequisite function. A learner should not be able to enroll or secure a seat in a classroom course when there is a prerequisite and it is not complete. When utilizing plans and paths, Learner rosters are not available to view as an administrator, only if you are assigned as the instructor can you view the list. Reporting on Paths really needs some attention. It reports the path progress only, not the individual courses in the path. Learner interface is a little confusing for them. It takes a while for them to figure it out... I have a long list of these basic functions that this LMS does not support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Learning Manager (formerly Adobe Captivate Prime) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not many. It just barely meets our needs. We are exploring new systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
