Lots of recent polls show that companies don't like their learning management system. The reason is that most LMS's are too complex, steep learning curve, not very flexible, often they have too many features that are not used. Absorb LMS has a good balance between just-enough functionality and easy of use. Keeps delivery costs low. Through a competitive bid analysis, we found Absorb to be about 25% of the cost of leading systems (e.g. Cornerstone, Saba, SumTotal, etc.). Much of this is because of the simplicity of the system. We added it to our shortlist because of their alliance with TinCan. We wanted to use it to track use of informal (non-scored) learning content. Works great. Nice mobile deployment. The primary interface is designed to play equally well on desktop and mobile, rather than use a completely separate interface for mobile. Very helpful. Finally, we needed multiple branded user interfaces. Worked well. Very good built-in e-commerce engine (great for companies that sell content) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no/minimal interface for creating branded interface. Requires deep technical experience or having the vendor do it for them. The company doesn't offer a built-in social learning module (like several other LMS vendors do). They designed it to work with third party social tools (good or bad, depending on how you want to use social learning). One of our needs was to have learner/end users be able to add user-generated content to the system. We had to explore a workaround to give learners limited admin capability to pull this off. Again, it is NOT an integrated talent management system. It is a pure LMS. For us that was great because we weren't looking for a talent management solution. So, this isn't a dislike, just a comment that may help others choose wisely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I liked that Absorb gives a user interface that is simple to understand with a lot of customization. I have enjoyed making templates for my department to access resources within Absorb with little difficulty. Whenever I need help, there is always someone from Absorb who is knowledgeable and able to help answer any questions that I may have. Even my Account Manager (Billy Emig), has been phenomenal in assisting with making Absorb a great product for our department. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When it comes to reporting, I feel that my industry (healthcare) has limitations. I have tried getting specific metrics such as timestamps in viewed courses and other important metrics that the Absorb Analyze reporting feature has not been able to produce. Also, the redesign of the course layout limits our users to open up links on the course page. This change has made viewing our recorded lectures hard to maintain focus and engagement with our users. There are components that have greatly improved from prior LMS-like systems we have used previously. Absorb is easy for users to navigate and is intuitive to the user. The Create function in combination with buying the Amplify content has given us the opportunity to train, develop, and engage multiple roles in our organization. We have an HCM integration with ADP and the automatic and quick flow of information regarding status and job titles has taken care of a lot of what was previously manual work. The reporting functions are also better than previous system, and everyone from admins to managers like having that information.
I also love the addition of the AI tool in Create. It does allow a quicker turnaround on some trainings I have made for our users. I have also receieved feedback that the AI voiceover feature really enhances our trainings that are heavily information slides.
We also have Client Success Manager, Stephanie Berry, who has assisted us since going live with Absorb and has done an excellent job. She is very timely in being responsive and available and will either provide an answer or direct us to the correct place to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some limitations to reporting specific to our organization. I would also like the HCM integration to continue to improve overtime to sync other pieces of information, such as Reviewer roles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like the look of Absorb and how customizable the features are. There are so many things to add and do - you'll truly never run out of options! I also love how responsive the customer support is. Being able to meet with our rep bi-weekly to learn about new features and ask questions has been invaluable. My one major complaint is that the backend of Absorb is incredibly manual. There are a lot of features that are great but take a long time to figure out and click through. The Absorb Amplify Max catalog is incredibly expansive, but it can feel overwhelming. I'd love to see more new features that help with minimizing the time it takes to run reports, roll out new courses, and catagorize trainings. The helpful thing is that the customer support takes note on things the customers dislike, and they actually work to implement changes! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Absorb is really helpful in creating courses, enrollment and attendance management as well as reporting especially now that we're starting to use Analyze. We get enough support from CS and our CSM on a timely manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not a major issue, but something that can be improved—the user interface is simple, but filtering data takes multiple steps to find specific information. If we can have this process simplified it would be more convenient to all the users. It will easier if you can get back to the tab where you left off with the filters still intact so no need for you to select all the filters all over again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy it is to use the LMS and modify learner/manager settings. I've used several LMS systems in the past and this one is the cleanest on the admin side and the learner side. I truly appreciate how uncomplicated it is for what we are trying to build in our company academy. My absolute favorite feature is being able to impersonate a learner to see what they are seeing on their end. This helps our L&D team troubleshoot efficiently if needed. Also, this is the first LMS experience where I have live customer support if needed and easily available. Jason May has been our point of contact and I appreciate how he explains everything and walks us through some points a few times so we get it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's nothing that stands out that I dislike about Absorb LMS. So far, it has been a great experience and I can't wait to see our LMS grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the best things about AbsorbLMS is the easy and intuitive course creation/management for administrators and the reporting features are pretty strong. No matter how good a learner dashboard of an LMS may look like, the admin side is very crucial to us as we have over 150 course admins who need an easy to use backend. We believe there's a lack of administrative control over certain features. We need the ability to make some features mandatory and hide others, as not all are relevant to our organization. In fact, some features negatively impact our learners due to the vendor's system design. - Feature requests unfortunately take very long to be considered, if at all. Absorb has a clean, intuitive navigation for the user and the admin, both. There are ways to do almost anything you would need to do to provide courses and curriculum to groups of people. The customization is really helpful and robust, with each toggle and option clearly describing the outcome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There aren't any big things I dislike about Absorb. Little things we noticed shortly after implementation have been addressed with updates and new feature releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like the Admin UX/UI and capabilities. As well, the Learner experience is easy-to-navigate and minimalist in design (but not boring or plain). I really enjoy the customization in look and feel that Admins have over the LMS. The automation abilities are excellent also.
The support and employees from Absorb that my team has worked with have all been excellent. It has made our implementation process and current maintanence/scaling of Absorb has been great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish the reporting tools in Absorb were just a bit more robust. Absorb Analyze Essentials is a good tool, but with a bit more scope/capabilities, it could be excellent. A missing feature in Absorb that I would love to see is the ability to quickly enroll multiple people in course without needing to use tags on the users' accounts (like department, job title, etc.). I wish it was easier to just have a list of usernames and to quickly enroll that group in 1+ courses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Versus other LMS platforms, Absorb has been very easy to pick up and use. My favorite part of Absorb, however, is the level of support they provide. From our Account Manager to our Customer Success Manager, they are engaged and proactive in helping us solve problems and implement best practices for our company. We are preparing to roll out Absorb to the network, and I feel very confident and prepared, thanks to the level of support and ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing I dislike is the hierarchy structure of the LMS. It can be hard to manage working in an industry with such high turnover. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Utilizing the LMS system, our team has been able to add external learners to our system to streamline a process for early learnin professionals to engage to engage in a self directed professional developmetn path. It has also help centralize the onboarding and Professional development tracking for internal staff. Flexibility in languages available for user navigation is also helpful. Sometimes it is confusing for managers to jump between admin experience and manager experiencies when wanting to manage course uploads associated with checklists. Both areas need to be visited to approve items individually. It would be helpful if managers could navigate that all in one place for the purposes of a streamline onboard and staff management experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
