As a developer having to build portals on top of Liferay it regularly makes me want to throw my computer out the window. We have multiple senior engineers at our company who threaten to quit if they ever have to work on a Liferay project again.

It might be a bit cheaper than the competition (but still super expensive) but even the simplest task can take very long. E.g it took a team of 8 engineers two months to update a website from Liferay 7.0 to 7.1.

It injects a full Bootstrap 4 and about 2MB of other crap (e.g. YUI) into the UI of your website. If you happen to also use Bootstrap 4 it will mess up your CSS.
