I used to prefer working in person, but after using Gather Town, I think I actually prefer remote work. It recreates the office experience so well—everyone has their own space but can easily come together in common areas like meeting rooms. Everything feels seamless; you can share your screen, others can do the same, and there’s no need to juggle multiple apps. Ich habe gelegentlich technische Probleme, bei denen mein externes USB-C-betriebenes Mikrofon nicht funktioniert. Das kann ziemlich ärgerlich sein. Aber wenn ich es von meinem USB-C-Anschluss abziehe, erledigt das die Aufgabe, und dann muss das interne MacBook Air-Mikrofon die Aufgabe übernehmen, was funktioniert. Hauptsächlich die Personalisierung. Dein Büro gestalten, das Logo deines Unternehmens anpassen und deinen eigenen Schreibtisch personalisieren, finde ich unglaublich. Es war sehr lustig, für eine Weile Halloween-Themen-Avatare zu haben.

Ich mag auch, dass es keinen Druck gab, die kostenpflichtige Version zu verwenden, als wir anfingen, es zu benutzen, weil 10 Schreibtische für das Team ausreichend waren.

It is easy to work with anyone; it is like you were in an office, everyone can have their space and gather there or at other spaces, like meeting rooms. It is all seamless, you can do your share screen and other people do theirs and everything without having to go around with different applications. I'd love to have more ways of creating different office spaces. And I don't mean the desk customization or inside overall customization but instead being able to change the whole building to make it more as we'd like to have our physical space. There's a way to partially make that happen with interior customization of the space but having a complete make-over from the outside to the indoors space would be lovely. Nichts. Während es sicherlich einige Wünsche gibt (hauptsächlich Musikplayer für Apple/Spotify/YouTube-Playlist 🙏🏻), gibt es keine Bugs oder Probleme, an die ich denken kann. Ich öffne typischerweise Gather als erstes, nutze es den ganzen Tag ohne Probleme und logge mich dann am Ende aus. Diese Stabilität wird von der App sehr geschätzt, da ich möchte, dass sie das unterstützt, was ich tue, und nicht die Aufmerksamkeit ablenkt.

Gather enables great collaboration when I work remotely by simulating office features in a virtual world. Examples include having a desk and personalizing it, meeting rooms with chairs, and the ability to overhear conversations.

The interface for walking around the office is very intuitive—similar to the old Game Boy Pokémon games.
