Aginity ist großartig für Anfänger oder Benutzer, die sich mit vielen anderen Aktivitäten als nur dem Schreiben von SQL beschäftigen. Es ist nicht geeignet für DBAs oder Datenbankentwickler. Da ich direkt mit unserem Data Warehouse verbunden bin, besteht ein Großteil meiner Tätigkeit darin, Datenbankansichten im Redshift-SQL-Dialekt zu schreiben, Snapshots zu erstellen und die finalisierten Abfragen weiter in BI-Plattformen und mit Data-Science-Tools zu nutzen. Die gesamte Abfrage zu sehen, ist nicht mehr möglich, selbst mit einem vertikalen Bildschirm, aber je mehr Platz es für Code im Ansichtsfenster gibt, desto besser. Und das ist die Hauptstärke von Aginity. Seine Funktionen zur Codevervollständigung und Syntaxhervorhebung sind makellos und die allgemeine Benutzerfreundlichkeit ist zufriedenstellend. Bezüglich der Datenbank-Connectoren gibt es nur wenige, aber die, die ich benutze, sind zuverlässig, selbst wenn die von alternativen Produkten ausfallen. Die automatische Update-Funktion ist ebenfalls sehr angenehm.

Während ich Aginity nicht als meine Haupt-IDE verwende und den kostenpflichtigen Aginity Team-Plan nicht nutze, schätze ich das allgemeine Gefühl sehr und würde anderen, insbesondere denen, die neu in SQL sind oder Schwierigkeiten haben, ihre Arbeit zu organisieren, sehr empfehlen, es auszuprobieren. As a DBA for a retail giant, I along with my team, need to analyse loads of history data, recommend and collect stale statistics, take backups and tune bad queries. All of this work is preety data intensive but when Aginity comes in picture, the experience is so smooth and the UI is so soothing, time goes by hurriedly. It is a great tool to be used together with Amazon databases. I used for some time for RedShift and it worked very well. For me it is important to have a good SQL command area and also do not lost screen for data and this application works very good for this purpose. Another competitor tools don't have so simple and at same time useful resources. It was used for all our team and it fits perfect for everyone.
