The layouts are not as flexible as I would like. I wish I was able to add more variety, and to incorporate photoshop more.
The ease of setting and manipulating type/text. I work in a text heavy industry and being able to set text quickly and without struggle is critical. This is one of the biggest edges I think Quark still has on InDesign.
I was turned off by price. When InDesign debuted at a much cheaper price and had the ability to convert Quark documents, I made the switch. Unless my client has particular needs, they aren't concerned with the software; the deliverable is a print ready pdf....
