AI Generated Summary
AI-generated. Powered by real user reviews.
  • Users report that NetBeans excels in its multi-language support, particularly for Java, PHP, and HTML, making it a preferred choice for developers working in diverse programming environments. In contrast, Eclipse is noted for its robust support for Java and C/C++, but some users feel it lacks the same level of versatility for other languages.
  • Reviewers mention that NetBeans offers a more intuitive file management system, which simplifies project navigation and organization. Eclipse, while functional, can be perceived as more complex, leading to a steeper learning curve for new users.
  • G2 users highlight that NetBeans provides excellent help guides and documentation, which are particularly beneficial for beginners. Eclipse users, however, report that while the documentation is comprehensive, it can sometimes be overwhelming and less user-friendly.
  • Users on G2 indicate that NetBeans has a more straightforward straight-out-the-box functionality, allowing users to start coding with minimal setup. Eclipse, on the other hand, is often described as requiring more configuration and plugins to achieve similar functionality.
  • Reviewers say that NetBeans has a more user-friendly customization process, allowing developers to tailor their environment easily. Eclipse users, however, appreciate the depth of customization options available, even if they require more effort to implement.
  • Users report that both platforms are generally reliable with patching and updates, but Eclipse users mention that updates can sometimes disrupt their workflow, while NetBeans users appreciate the seamless integration of updates into their development process.

Some options are challenging to find, there is no clear way to find certain options. The UI feels too old now. Memory consumption seems to be a problem, since compared to other IDEs this feels slower and bigger.
