With PL Rating, I can get quotes from several different companies in very little time. I really like that it will pull in all the information we have on file for each individual. This can save a lot of time if you have several vehicles and/or drivers.
PL Rater is easy to work with and the Customer Service is great. With the increase in rates, we are using this almost daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downsides that I have found is that not all companies use PL Rater and you do have to answer several questions that are different for each company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It brings in all the info from the prior term with current customers. I do not feel that it is as easy with new business. It is a great way to teach new agents how to get quotes quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like it to order all reports for us so we can get a more accurate quote to start out with instead of having to go in and look at the quotes. But really it is very nice to have them there and you can pick and choose which ones you want to go into.

That the general questions for each company arent together instead of asking a million questions for each compaony repetitively. We should have the ability to answer all group questions in one spot, all plumbing in one spot, etc, instead of trying to find each companies specific questions. The best part about PL Rating is its ease of use. It allows for simple attachments and policy amendments, seamlessly connecting the PL reader to our vertical AMS360 system. This integration enhances workflow efficiency and ensures accurate data management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest drawback of PL Rating is that many carriers don’t fully support features for raters. This creates issues when trying to return quotes with multiple carriers, as some simply don’t work within the system. This limitation can slow down the quoting process and require additional manual work to get accurate results.
Additionally, I wish more customer fields were stored in a client profile that would automatically populate when initiating a home or auto quote. For example, when starting an auto quote, key details like the customer’s driver's license number and date of birth aren’t integrated, requiring me to manually re-enter them every time. Helps provide intial rates within a couple minutes and allows the information to be bridged over into each carrier and cuts down on so much time. When I first started in insurance, I had to quote each carrier individually and it took so much time inputting the information over and over. PL rating cut that time down significantly! The only downside is when a carrier doesn't return a rate and requires that we use their system directly, none of the PL rating information transfers over. That might be a carrier issue, rather than a PL Rating issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't know that I dislike anything. Obviously I still have to go into the quotes at the company websites and "tweak" them, but I don't think there is any way to avoid that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In 2024 we had a record-breaking year for new business in auto and homeowners' insurance premiums. The quoting process with PL Rating is easy to use, assisting our agents and processors in getting timely and accurate information to our members so they can make an informed decision about which carrier will best meet their needs at a price point they can afford. It provides a quick way to quote for a new customer, or to remarket an existing account. It integrates easily with other Vertafore products and seamlessly allows us to share information between products. It also is very easy to train new hires on the product. It is hard to find something that I dislike about PL Rating. If I had to pick, it is that sometimes not all the information in AMS360 transfers over a remarketing quote. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being able to export client information to PL rater and access quotes on carrier websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When I bridge to Hawksoft the VIN Number and DL number to not import correctly. I cannot see those in PL rater because they are incomplete. I then need to call the client to confirm those details. Also, if the prospective client entered information incorrectly into PL Rater and we bridge it to a certain carrier we cannot edit the quote.
