Top Rated Naviance Alternatives
It is easy to view and allows students to compare different school with a lot of information, such as price, sports, dorms, act, sat, and gpa. It allows seniors to create a list of schools they applied to and what the decision was. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some parts are hard to use such as putting in the scholarship money that you have received and the resume part is a little complicated for first time users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The fact that it integrates with our Student Information System, but that's about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The support is terrible. Every ticket goes to a robot and never seems to be addressed by an actual human. You receive canned responses that do not even address your concern and there appears to be no ability to escalate. We continue to have outstanding issues that will never be resolved. They rolled out not two, but 3 versions of their report engine, none of which are intuitive and all are laggy and require a comical amount of clicks to pull a simple excel export. Our school counselors have consistent issues with common app information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does a thorough job of informing the student of various options available to them when making decisions on continuing to higher education. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lack of support and bureaucratic layres that must be traversed to get to a solution if one is gotten at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The college comparsion tool is quite helpful, though is kind of clunky. The idea of linked parents, students, and counslers is great and helpfull for all parties, though I don't think naviance does a great job communicating the other parites deadlines for uploading certain things. It's very clunky and I dispise the many times it has reloaded itself asking me to re sign in (seesion timed out i guess), just to delete all the progress of what I was working on, specifically the school survays and resume builder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The whole system is very straightforward to utilize, and support is always on top of whatever we need. It is extremely rare that we don't have a resolution within a few days (for complex issues) if it isn't solved within the same day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We had some growing pains in trying to implement a way to create/link parent accounts to their student accounts automatically. However, it is my understanding that with the recent acquisition by PowerSchool, this process will now be streamlined, and parents will be able to access Naviance directly from their PowerSchool Parent Portal in an upcoming release. Additionally, over time the overnight automated sync process with PowerSchool has left a bit to be desired and we had to frequently tweak the parameters of our exported file in order to ensure that we had all of the data that we were expecting.
Within the past few years, Naviance changed their password requirements and as a result we were no longer able to utilize our student PowerSchool login information as the passwords were shorter than the new minimum required length that was implemented. However, in configuring a Google single sign-on instead all of those problems went away as students can now just use their district Google credentials to log with the convenient one-click method as long as they are actively logged into their Google account.
Overall, due to the amazing staff at Naviance, even the complaints we have aren't really complaints since they regularly take care of all of our concerns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is very nice to easily upload letters of recommendation and fill out Common App forms for students in one streamlined place. Pressing submit and having it go to all of the colleges a student has requested is pretty remarkable and time-saving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This year, there have been a lot of extra steps students had to go through to properly request a letter of rec. This has meant that as a teacher, already donating my time to write these letters, I've also had to chase down students.
Also, the loading time has become very slow this year. It takes quite a while for a page to load and I'm often waiting and having to click referesh. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. Nothing, Absolutley nothing. Nada. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Linking with the common app is difficult and can cause the site to not accept applications to non common app schools. The login process is a mess, temporary passwords often don't work, and the system likes to shut you out. I was in the middle of writing my brag "sheet", when the website said "Your session was expiring", didn't let me "extend " my "session", and logged me out, scrambled my password again, and DELETED EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF MY PROGRESS. I hate that my school has forced the standard of using this website for applications upon us, and I implore whoever reads this to try any other website/ way to apply to college. The manner in which the entire platform is presented provides easy access to utilize various resources for the user. It's fairly user-friendly overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Specifically, there have been some changes to the platform throughout the past several months that have made it difficult to keep track of everything available. There have also been a few hiccups on their end, which they've admitted. It'd be nice to have an easier way of keeping track of what's due and when. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to insert, track, and make decisions off of student data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Like any program, it takes a bit of time to learn the ins and outs. This isn't specific to Naviance - it just is what it is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Naviance helps store college and career information and tools in one location for student use. Career and college goal setting lessons are fun and engaging to students. They are also short enough to hold student attention and break planning and setting goals into manageable chunks. Also, it is fairly easy for students to use this program to request transcripts and manage college applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes Naviance can be difficult to navigate for students. The teacher page also looks different from what students see, so it can be difficult to walk a class through how to access needed lessons or materials. Teacher trainings are necessary to implement this program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
