When reporting to third parties (bosses, shareholders, members) is not required, Quicken is by far the easiest solution for managing your own small business. It is essentially a double-entry system without the extra hand-tying that does with more sophisticated accounting systems. I've used it for several decades to manage several businesses. I haven't found any functions I've missed.

I love that they have a Mac version! Cost is in-line with what a PC user pays, as well as it is less than other Mac accounting software. Easy to install and update regularly without significant disruption. Customer support is helpful and quick to answer calls.
