I think Omni is the next-generation analytics, modeling, and visualization tool. It supports users who are new to SQL to analytics experts. It pairs incredibly well with dbt to provide a centralized source for analysis for our whole company. I love the automatic schema update feature. When we create a new model in dbt, Omni automatically pulls it in with the correct dimensions and even takes a shot at predicting how it should be joined to other models. The break between Topics (Explores in Looker) and how models are joined is a 10/10 feature and saves us a ton of time in the modeling stage. Users who need an on-the-rails experience get it. Users who know how to do custom joins, measures, and dimensions get them. They can even promote their customizations to the main model so everyone can benefit in a really low-friction way. The support we've received from the Omni team has been truly incredible. Their customer service alone is a reason to switch. Every time we've needed help (even if it's just folks new to SQL who need a hand) the team has responded in minutes. If we find a bug, it's usually fixed in nothing flat. If we need a feature, we often see them add it within hours or days -- not weeks. Before you spin up anything else, give Omni a shot. It's worth it.
