Uma das primeiras coisas que notei ao experimentar o Tembo pela primeira vez foi como era simples iniciar uma nova instância do Postgres e configurar qualquer combinação de extensões que eu quisesse.
Quando você cria uma nova instância, pode escolher entre algumas "pilhas" comuns, que são instalações de Postgres pré-configuradas com uma combinação de extensões para cargas de trabalho comuns, como OLTP, OLAP, Aprendizado de Máquina, Séries Temporais, Fila de Mensagens e outras. Há também uma pilha padrão, onde você escolhe quais extensões deseja usar. Instalar uma extensão é tão fácil quanto encontrá-la na lista e clicar no botão de instalação.
Apesar de ser simples de usar, a plataforma é muito poderosa também, suportando recursos como alta disponibilidade, restauração de backup em um ponto no tempo, monitoramento de desempenho e suporte ao Terraform.
Nas poucas vezes que tive perguntas, a equipe do Tembo foi super responsiva no Slack, respondendo imediatamente. Eles também foram fundamentais para ajudar a construir ainda mais o ecossistema de extensões do Postgres, tendo criado várias extensões de código aberto, como pgmq, pg_vectorize, pg_timeseries e várias outras.
Antes de usar o Tembo, eu não estava realmente ciente da vasta gama de extensões disponíveis e de quão poderosas elas são, então credito a eles por ajudar a aumentar a conscientização sobre extensões e como você pode usar o Postgres para mais do que apenas um RDBMS tradicional.
No geral, o Tembo é uma plataforma incrível para executar o Postgres, elevando o padrão e expandindo a definição do que um banco de dados gerenciado pode ser.
