I really only have 1 complaint and that is with the sorting of the Secondary Billing list. It is a known issue (and has been for at least 4 years) that the list does not sort correctly. This really impedes my work and I wish they would fix it immediately. To them it is a low priority issue, but not to us. 1. There is no way to cc a provider. Really. Every single professional note in the history of written word you can cc a provider and is considered basic medico-legal necessity. I would recommend that, just like this email, there be a way to copy a provider, whether it be a provider, or consultant (or other entity) on the note
2. There is no way to order DME supplies. I cannot believe that this has not been an issue. The workaround suggest was to perform a Consultation. So I am to Consult a CPAP mask? Really.
3. I don’t know how many Neurologists are on this platform, and the Neuro exam is a varied and complex one, but huge swaths of it are not possible in this system at all (geghenhalten, cogwheel rigidity, turning en bloc, gait apraxia, shuffling gait, spontaneous retropulsion, sensory ataxic gait, pronation, drift, intranuclear opthalmoplegia, astasia/abasia, transcortical aphasia, I could go on and on). Documentation of a provider’s primary exam would seem to be a basic requirement on an EMR.
4. “Ordering” an in house procedure to be scheduled drops the bill into the procedure coding exactly the same as Procedure documentation, which is illogical, and takes time to undo the billing, which should not have been billed in the first place. Billing a procedure when done is correct, billing it when ordered to be scheduled is illegal.
5. There is no database of labs that a specialist would use for lets say MS, NMO, MG, and they cant be added.
So... lets. see.. I cant document my exam, order DME, order a test without having to go into the back end and un-bill it (for something that hasnt even been scheduled, order a special lab, or even cc my referring providers.
