Zulip has streams with designated topics that is so fun and easy to catch up after a meeting in which I dont experience to other softwares and this is what I like best about Zulip. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
On the downside, if you are self-hosting, Zulip requires a dedicated server (or VM). There are some efforts to make it run in a container but nothing that works really well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a great tool for communicating. It's great for workplace to stay in the loop. The software is free to use, and you can even host it in your own servers for flexibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's takes some to getting used to. You may run into server hosting issues while using it. Wish there were more layout options. More attractive ones would catch more eye. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that it's very simple and easy to use. It's fairly intuitive, so it doesn't require much time for new users to get used to the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the way they do notifications. When I first open the app on my desktop, it shows me all my new messages, but it will get rid of the notifications if I scroll through all of them, meaning it's easy to miss some of the new messages. I also don't like the way images send (where the image is very small). I'd prefer if images could be shown bigger, taking almost as much space as normal text messages do. Zulip uses to express our thought clearly with a bulleted list bold, italic, and so many. It has fun expressing ourselves with emojis. It has the option to the shared link and automatically generates the preview. Discuss code with ease using Markdown code blocks, syntax highlighting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has the central issue of not showing notifications for new messages. It couldn't work in the lousy network—some problem with a processing time lag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has all the necessary features one might expect from a communication platform, 1-1 chat, group chat, threads. The best thing probably is its open source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Probably the UI, especially on mobile. Its hard to like it when someone has been using Slack. Feels very old school. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flexible structure (topics within streams) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No particular dislikes.. The user experience for mobile apps is less sophisticated than the Windows system app. (And for the design of messages , bold, underline etc. you need to use special characters, preceding and following the message. In every day use, with concise messages, this is not a problem) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
