YouMail's management of phone calls is top-notch. They have very elaborate ways of setting your system up. Their Spam Blocker is second to none. YouMail is definitively in the top 5 in their field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The least helpful thing about YouMail for me is the lack of a web application. I need to be able to handle phone calls on a PC during the day, and YouMail doesn't offer a solution here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I loved the voicemail transcription service that would allow me to read my voicemails via email or via the Youmail app without having to listen to the message. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the transcription service would not understand the person and transcribe the wrong word. However, I'm usually able to understand what they actually said. I could always listen to the message itself to hear what was said too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the number of Voicemails you can receive and keep compared to your service provider's standard mailbox. A lot of the things that I love come with the steep subscription Plus plan, which is the next tier up from basic/free. You're able to determine the level of spam blocking protection, including who or under what circumstances they may leave a voicemail. You can block spam texts and mark them as spam right from your text messages. I love that you can star important voicemails, so if you listened to it but didn't have a chance to respond, you can go back to it very quickly and easily, especially when the messages are typed out in print as well. For the version that is one step up from basic (which does not provide anything different than your standard voicemail box), it is costly for ONE user. For the Non-Business, just Plus plan for One person is $7.99/mo or $79.99/year. That's more expensive than Microsoft 365 monthly! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It blocks spam calls and that's the only thing I want it to do. Without ads and bouncing around and not allowing me to exit the ad Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I get totally stuck on an ad selling video games. They're using this to milk me for a paid subscription!! When I hit call to return a call my screen blinks and then goes to the stupid game ad Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I installed this app a year ago on an old phone to screen spam calls. It does that. But Google call screener is better. Otherwise, it's nothing special and not worth the risk of it breaking your call forwarding (see below). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I strongly advise against installing this app. YouMail hijacked my voicemail forwarding. I've run the MMI codes, followed Youmail's deactivation instructions, spent a couple hours on the phone with T-Mobile troubleshooting. I cannot get my vm back even after I got a new phone (which YouMail was never even installed on). I'm missing calls and not getting messages, and I'm afraid now I might need to change my number. This has become a huge ongoing problem for me, one that YouMail seems unable to resolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It sounded very good to have robocalls decreased or eliminated Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Youmail was more annoying than robocalls. There are frequent messages to upgrade and more importantly, messages from family and friends had to be retrieved via my email and the message callers received was robotic and not at all welcoming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
