"Switching To Them From WPEngine"

What do you like best about WPMU DEV?

I have long appreciated WP Engine as the premier hosting for clients. However, they're pricing structures is difficult when working with clients at scale. Accordingly I began looking for a hosting company with intensive technical documentation and a response chat for technical support.

What do you dislike about WPMU DEV?

"A great suite of Pro tools to help manage multiple sites"

What do you like best about WPMU DEV?

We use WPMU DEV to help support the over 50 WordPress sites we manage. WPMU DEV allows us to monitor and update plugins from a central point, and their Pro plugins give us powerful tools to help with optimization and fine-tuning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WPMU DEV?

While we have a lot of control through the tools, it can be a bit overwhelming to go through all of the settings. They offer the option for creating presets that can be applied on multiple sites. Their "Hub" dashboard can sometimes feel inefficient to use if you're trying to edit multiple sites or settings at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WPMU DEV solving and how is that benefiting you?

WPMU DEV helps to tackle two major problems for us.

The first is providing us with a cost-effective way to deploy optimization tools and plugins for multiple sites. Rather than pay for a handful of different plugins to address common challenges like SEO, performance, security, etc. and worrying about plugin conflicts and bloating, WPMU DEV provides all of those tools under one house with a consistent UI across the different products. Using all of these products from one provider also gives reassurance that they'll work together in harmony.

The second is the ability to centrally manage multiple sites from a single dashboard. We can install and update plugins, monitor site uptime, and organize our sites all from a single dashboard. We can offer our completely white label services, and even The plants designed by wap mu dev are so perfect that once we create the website in wpmudev We don't even need to worry about backups losing the site, Any crashes etc.. "WPMU Dev Consistently Impresses"

What do you like best about WPMU DEV?

WPMU Dev is emerging as one of the best WordPress platforms I have ever used. I’ve been developing for WordPress since its V1.0 full version release in 2004. As such, I have worked on many WP hosting networks including the networks I consider to be the major professional players: Pagely, Kinsta, and WPEngine. I now have a 4th network to add to that list: WPMU Dev

I initially set up our account to use their plugins as my company was hosting our clients on another network. Over the years, though, I have slowly gleaned the power of the Hub as a business resource. At the time of this writing, we only have a few sites on WPMU Dev. But those sites are largely hassle-free and highly performant. We are looking at using WPMU Dev as our primary network for client hosting.

Their support is always friendly and very knowledgeable. The software and features of the Hub are very impressive and accommodate much of what our business needs in order to provide our services.

The only reason I didn’t give them a 10 is because I don’t do absolutes and know that there is always room for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WPMU DEV?

The primary thing I don't like about WPMU Dev is their name: WPMU Dev. With only 7 letters the name is 7 syllables long. I burn 100 calories everytime I have to say or type the name.

The Hub can be a little sluggish because of the sheer amount of work it has to do.

What do you like best about WPMU DEV?

WPMUDEV has a very good dashboard to be able to have good control of connected websites and several plug-ins that we appreciate a lot. But the absolute best thing is the support that you have access to via the dashboard, you can also create a direct support ticket inside the current website and share access for a support technician in case of really tricky problems. "Support, plugins, and hosting for Wordpress - WpmuDev just keeps getting better"

What do you like best about WPMU DEV?

I like being able to get instant support for my wordpress sites. I like the plugins, especially smush, defender, and smartcrawl. Until just a few years ago, that's what WpmuDev offered, and it was great.

But then, they started to offer hosting. Not just any hosting, but dedicated droplets so your site never gets messed up due to someone else's problems. There's a web application firewall to help protect you, and the server is highly optimized for great performance. They now offer plans that are attractive to resellers, too.

Any time I have a problem site, that's caused server issues on my vps or just won't run on a shared plan that my client had tried, I move it to WpmuDev. If the issues aren't solved automatically just from the move, the support there will help me figure out anything that's causing a problem. They'll troubleshoot the whole thing, whether or not it's related to their plugins or their server.

The WpmuDev Hub is my primary resource for managing the sites I own, host, or maintain, and it's the best available. I used to use a self-hosted InfiniteWP for that, but I've moved almost everything over th the Hub. There is a great deal of automation possible to save me time, and I really like the way it checks specified pages before and after in order to detect any errors in updates.

What problems is WPMU DEV solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've solved lots of problems with WPMU DEV, including some I didn't know I had until Defender or SmartCrawl told me about them. Chat support has helped me more times than I can count. There've been DDOS attacks and attempts to hack into the sites I host there, but the sites just kept chugging away because of the fantastic Web Application Firewall.
