"Powerful automation for GTM systems"
What do you like best about Workato?

Workato makes it possible to connect almost any system and automate complex, multi-step workflows without heavy engineering resources. It’s extremely flexible, with prebuilt connectors and the ability to customize recipes to handle advanced logic. For marketing operations in particular, it saves hundreds of hours by automating repetitive tasks, reducing manual errors, and ensuring data flows smoothly across Salesforce, Marketo, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workato?

The platform has a learning curve, especially when working with more advanced recipes and APIs—it’s not always plug-and-play. Error messages can sometimes be vague, requiring trial and error to troubleshoot. Costs can scale quickly if you’re running high-volume processes, so you need strong governance and monitoring to avoid overages. Finally, managing recipe maintenance across environments (dev, UAT, production) can take careful planning to ensure long-term sustainability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Automation Engine I Needed to Connect My Apps Reliably and Intelligently"
What do you like best about Workato?

I love Workato's ability to handle both simple integrations and complex, multi-step workflows. The "recipe" builder is intuitive yet incredibly powerful, allowing for conditional logic, loops, and complex data transformations.

The connector library is massive and high-quality. There are connectors for almost every SaaS application we use (Salesforce, NetSuite, Slack, Google Workspace, etc.). The setup is very guided, and I haven't had any authentication or connection issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workato?

While the interface is user-friendly, understanding the Workato logic and its components (triggers, actions, data pills, etc.) can take some time. A novice user might feel a bit overwhelmed at first, though the tutorials and documentation are excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Workato - A clever tool that you need to automate tasks across your business."
What do you like best about Workato?

What I like best about Workato is its unparalleled ability to simplify and minimize tasks through automation, fundamentally transforming business processes. Its integration capabilities are truly exceptional, seamlessly connecting with platforms like Slack, Salesforce, spreadsheets, and various APIs. This extensive connectivity is simply "out of this world."

What truly struck me, especially during my journey through the free Workato Academy (which offers not just invaluable knowledge but also certifications that validate your expertise), was the sheer number of use cases I discovered. These insights made it clear how Workato could reduce workloads by more than 80%. I found myself constantly brainstorming and creating projects that leveraged Workato, witnessing firsthand how it streamlines complex business operations, making them both simple and remarkably effective.

The ease of implementation was another significant advantage; what could have taken weeks was up and running in a matter of days. Furthermore, the frequency of use has been incredibly high, often without me even needing to open the Workato application directly. Its automatic handling of requests ensures that critical processes are continuously managed in the background. Honestly, without Workato, I can't imagine the extensive efforts and resources we would otherwise need to achieve similar results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workato?

While Workato provides excellent free subscriptions for learners, my main concern is its complex pricing structure. If automated workflows (recipes) aren't meticulously optimized, costs can quickly become very high. This is because pricing often scales with usage, meaning inefficient recipe design can lead to unexpected and significant expenditures. This complexity demands a proactive approach to recipe design and continuous usage monitoring. Without a clear understanding of how each automated action impacts the bill, businesses might find the financial benefits of automation overshadowed by unforeseen costs.

Additionally, while customer support is generally responsive, I've found that the resolution isn't always satisfactory. For instance, when I encountered an issue where Workato was tampering with files during uploads to Salesforce, the support team requested a live demonstration at their convenience. This was challenging and ineffective for me, as I was reluctant to disclose sensitive information in that manner. A more desirable approach would have been for them to provide standard troubleshooting steps or a solution with clear instructions, rather than requiring a live session that presented privacy concerns. "Effortless Workflow Automation with Intuitive Drag-and-Drop Interface"
What do you like best about Workato?

Ease of use with low code required to set up a workflow. Additionally, the drag and drop interface is user friendly, with adequate control and information, with good automation capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workato?

It does require some amount of learning curve to fully utilize full functionality (such as complex customization) of Workato. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Workato’s integration is a money, time and effort saver"
What do you like best about Workato?

Workato has been incredible in terms of stitching tools together, performing difficult transformations, helping team deliver projects and complete tasks on autopilot. The connectors, capabilities and the support Workato as a tool offers is very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workato?

I don’t really see any downsides of this platform. It connects to every app in our ecosystem, performs every task that we can imagine (if the APi’s allow for it) and managing the recipes with error handling has been swift Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Integrating systems and processes is a breeze with Workato."
What do you like best about Workato?

Workato is easy to use, really powerful, and fun... but even better than all that is the constant improvements and new features added to the product. Workato is always moving in the right direction, from quality-of-life improvements to powerful new features that leverage AI, to the ability to easily debug recipes (scripts), this product is always ahead of the curve. What do you dislike about Workato?

I've been using Workato now for over three years and I haven't once regretted my decision to bring this into our organization. There really isn't anything I dislike about Workato. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The more you dig the more treasure you find!"
What do you like best about Workato?

Workato is very easy to use and highly intuitive, the interface is clean and minimalist which makes it very easy to start working with, as opposed to overwhelming interfaces with hundreds of controls to choose from. Once connections are established between Workato and cloud services, creating recipes to perform a wide range of automated actions becomes as easy as drag and drop. The amount of applications already setup out of the box is in the hundreds, plus many more are available via the support community.

The Academy, which hosts their trainings, is an invaluable asset because it just becomes the easiest way to see it in action. Following their on-demand short and simple to understand lessons you go from automating simple actions like "move file from A to B" all the way to "setup an enterprise chatbot with custom actions and responses".

If a recipe is well designed you will rarely have to touch it again for a long time. Designing recipes is probably the most important step towards implementing your ideas, and Workato even provides AI assistance for that task. But once a recipe is designed and deployed, if all variables were accounted for then it will run until the end of times.

The purpose and end goal of Workato is to take on your manual work and elevate you to a designer/administrator level so that you can do more with your time. The more you build in Workato the more time you save yourself and your company. After developing in Workato for approximately 1 year I can say with full guarantee that I already saved myself and my colleagues dozens of man hours, and that value only keeps increasing every day. There are tasks that I literally do not do anymore because they are fully designed, deployed, and automated at this point.

Lastly, I should give a huge shout out to their Customer Support, and Customer Success Managers. Their Customer Support over chat was able to help me with ease a few times with small issues I was encountering. For big issues I absolutely recommend contacting your Customer Success Manager. No matter the question I threw at them, they found resources to help me and got on meetings with me to help me step by step through my problems. From setting up connections, to advice on environment growth and expansion, to task analysis and efficiency, you name it, they had someone that helped me with it.

All in all it's been a 5 star service all around for a solid year, and right now I have more ideas I want to implement on it, but just not enough time for everything. But Workato will give me my time back the more I develop on it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workato?

The only downside I can think of in Workato is that it does not cover every single application out there, in the sense of pre-established applications in the library. I have had to setup a few myself for more obscure cases of lesser known applications that my organization uses, and it might be a little bit of trial and error until you get it all squared away. But any application that has APIs can be setup with Workato manually via their HTTP connector. It might not be as smooth and easy as the range of applications they already provide out of the box, but it is not at all impossible. If you find yourself in a jam and you can't get the exact settings right, contact their support or customer success manager, they will be able to help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nikki Salvie Clarin of Workato

Hi Jorge,

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with Workato! We’re delighted to hear that our platform's intuitive, drag-and-drop recipe builder UI and robust Academy resources have made automation accessible and impactful for you. It’s incredible to see how you’ve automated HR onboarding/offboarding and saved your team significant time. Automating 90% of these tasks and freeing up dozens of hours each quarter is such a huge win, and it's precisely what we love to see our customers achieve with Workato!

We’re extremely grateful for your recognition of our Customer Success and Support teams. We're thrilled to hear that they've been exceptionally valuable to you--whether it’s resolving quick questions over chat or providing step-by-step guidance for more complex challenges. Your recognition means a lot to us, and I'll make sure to share your feedback with the team!

We also appreciate your feedback about the need to manually set up connectors for some lesser known apps and systems. While we’re always expanding our connector library, we’re glad our HTTP connector and support team could help you get the applications you need integrated. If there's anything else we can do to help, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Thanks again for the thoughtful review, and we can't wait to see what other workflows we can orchestrate together!
