What do you like best about WordPress.org?

My favorite aspect of WordPress.org is its empowerment through choice. It's incredibly easy to use, even for beginners, with a smooth installation process and an intuitive interface. What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

As an open-source platform, it relies on users to actively manage security updates and plugin compatibility, which can be overwhelming for beginners. Unlike hosted WordPress versions, there's no official customer support team. However, the vibrant community forum usually provides excellent help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WordPress.org?

- Wordpress is a basic CMS for almost all of our clients. It's easy to implement, you need just to upload zip archive with Wordpresss, unzip it and create database

- Huge themes selection. You can choose free or paid themes, if you need you can create new one. Wordpress library contains hundreds of ready themes for different site types, also there is several major big platforms where you can buy paid ones. We used both Free and Paid variants, it depends on a client

- Flexibility. You can make company website, blog, even shop with right theme and right plugins, we primarily did landings for ads and several e-commerce projects

- Plugins. You can expand everything in this CMS and integrate different services and external APIs. Create e-commerce shops, complete custom designs with constructors, dynamic forms, custom scripts, etc.

- Huge community. Wordpress has a very strong community with a tons of advices, instructions and solutions. Wordpress forum solved a lot of times different problems with plugins and themes

- We use Wordpress as our daily driver on our website and our client ones Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

- Built-it visual constructor is not very great, you will definitely try to search for an more simple and powerful alternative

- There were situations when you need to install plugin for small little function and with time on our several client projects this plugins collection becomes a real mess, when you use only small percentage of functions of installed plugins

- It's very strong community support, but there is almost no official one customer support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering WordPress.org:

It's a free CMS so you definitely should try if it meets your needs for the project, Wordpress without plugins is very limited, but with them you can definitely expand functionality for almost every project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Wordpress as daily driver CMS for website of our agency and for a lot of websites of our clients. Almost all of our clients use Wordpress to create landings, e-commerce projects, we had 2 content projects with it, It's very flexible and reliable solutions for almost every niche. What do you like best about WordPress.org?

WordPress does blogs well; it is cost-effective and relatively user-friendly. Agencies have built automation to instantly build a basic website for their clients with little to no effort, and advanced users, such as the Canadian Grand Prix of Formula 1, have made highly customized websites that look good. It's easy to integrate other software such as Givecloud, Keela, Mailchimp or other products that allow you to embed code into different websites and Wordpress supports the Head code and page code necessary for each. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

WordPress requires constant monitoring for plugin updates and compatibility and is much harder to design than other options. I've used WordPress frequently, and it is usually more time-consuming to do an identical task than in other builders. This is not necessarily Wordpress's fault but the Plugin or Builder that is being nailed onto Wordpress after the fact. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?

Provides a website for clients to host content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WordPress.org?

What I love about WordPress.org is the freedom it gives you. You can customize just about anything—whether it’s the design, features, or functionality. Plus, you actually own your site, which is a huge bonus compared to other platforms. There’s also a massive community and tons of resources, so it’s easy to find help or learn as you go! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

What I don’t love about WordPress.org is that it can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you’re not super tech-savvy. You have to handle things like hosting, security, and updates on your own, which can feel like a lot. And if you want to customize your site beyond the basics, you might need to know some coding or hire a developer, which can get expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?

WordPress.org solves the problem of flexibility and control. It lets me build exactly the kind of website I need without being locked into a specific platform’s limitations. I can customize everything—design, features, functionality—and actually own my site. That freedom has been a huge benefit, especially as my needs grow or change over time. Number of customization and plugins is overvelming, it is not as secure as other platforms using plugins can broke some themes and cause vulnerabilities on site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Main thing it solves is need of all in one platform for web management, with no reqire of advance coding skills, does not require to manually do SEO, it has lots of plugins wich do it automatically, content scheduling like blogs and posts is very easy, it is also more effecient and scalable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WordPress.org?

Ease of use and short learning curve. Can be easily explained event to someone with very little or no coding skills. The drag-and-drop approach of most components is a lifesaver when you need quick changes and edits and are looking at a lot of pages. The CMS can handle a ton of data, and the large support base for this platform means you can always find support from the community for any issues. It integrates pretty much with any system on the planet, and can be implemented and ready to go in 30mins. Great CMS for day-to-day use for beginners and advanced users alike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

Its simplicy can sometimes lso be its biggest flaw. Code optimization, and getting multiple plugins to work well with each other can become problematic real soon. Its great for very basic and simple websites but struggles when you need a lot of complex stuff to be done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WordPress.org?

I seriously love WordPress.org!

I knew nothing about building a website, even with a drag-and-drop builder. WordPress however, was easy to use. It's easy to find tutorials to help you along the way and there are a bunch of forums/communities where you can find experts. Plus the finished product looks great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

If anything it's not knowing which template i should pick. I want to try them all!

Also the WordPress .com/.org thing is a little confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has solved a product landing page for me, a work blog, and an e-commerce store for me.

What do you like best about WordPress.org?

One of the best things about WordPress.org is its flexibility and control. It’s open-source, so you can customize nearly every aspect of your site with plugins, themes, and custom code. This freedom is ideal for users who want complete ownership of their website and the ability to scale it uniquely. The wide range of plugins lets you add advanced functionality (like e-commerce, SEO tools, and membership features) without building things from scratch. And with a vibrant community and extensive documentation, a wealth of resources will support you along the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

A drawback of WordPress.org is its steep learning curve, requiring users to manage hosting, security, and updates themselves. It also relies heavily on plugins, which can lead to compatibility issues and security risks if not properly maintained. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?

WordPress.org solves the problem of website customization and scalability, offering users full control to design unique sites with advanced functionality through plugins and themes. This flexibility is invaluable for businesses and creators, enabling tailored branding, e-commerce, SEO, and more without extensive coding skills. What do you like best about WordPress.org?

There are many things I like about WordPress but what I most like about this CMS is that unlike other CMS you can customize almost everything for your website with WordPress and find every features you want in the plugins. This is how open source projects successful over the years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

Surely WordPress.org software is free itself, but if you want to create a mid size professional website using WordPress, it will cost a lot! Bestie hosting and technical expanses, everything in WordPress cost you money! From premium themes to every necessary plugins can accumulate, leading to higher overall cost that make you consider other options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?

If you want to use WordPress for a weblog or simple website, I can say because WordPress install almost automatically, so you don't need any technical knowledge to install or run it, and again it save you from a lot of frustrating and confusing technical expanses with using all the plugins and thems it provide for you . What do you like best about WordPress.org?

I love how easy it is to use, how great the community is. It's great for creating everything from simple websites with only a few pages to large involved websites, e-commerce sites and blogs. It's a great tool I use daily as a website designer and developer.

The Wordpress community is also great if you have any issues or need support. There are also so many plugins to cover pretty much anything you may need to do. You don't need to be a developer and understand code to create beautiful websites in Wordpress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

I dislike that certain features such as easily being able to assign specific roles to users isn't a built in feature other than that I think it's a great tool.

I also dislike how they have handled the whole Advanced Custom Fields plugin by force take over. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's a great tool for building websites and creating user friendly, designs that work really well from both a front end and back end perspective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WordPress.org?

Making the most of PHP programming language, open source WordPress is heavily optimized for cache and other web development processes. As a resut, a website on WordPress consumes minimal resource. Whether it is a blog or an e-store, community forum or learning management software, WordPress has readymade plugins (free and paid) for almost all prevalent business use cases. Something that can take months and years to develop in-house can be accessed here instantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

Some use cases where speed is of paramount importance such as stock trading apps can be best done on C. For scientific applications, Python might be better suited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?

For my personal blog, I find WordPress the best CMS. Adding ecommerce feature takes a few clicks with activating WooCommerce plugin. For accepting payments, it takes few more clicks to connect with your PayPal/Stripe/PhonePe accounts. So as a web developer, I single-handedly use WordPress for my own needs while also recommending to my friends, relatives, and cients. When I have additional time, I customize front-end using my knowledge in HTMl/CSS/JavaScript. Or start working on adding functional features honing my PHP skill that can be later even distributed as free plugin to all WordPress users through WordPress.org plugin repository.
