The website loading speed is poor and may appear slow, particularlyon mobile devices. Users who are less patient may visit our websites less frequently and explore our pages less througly. One of the feature that we disliked about Wix is its requirement of additional amount for transferring a third-party domain to Wix. I have used WIX for years with no issue. Suddenly I see I am upgraded to premium, which I did not want, and am paying 4 times as much per month. I chatted with a CS agent who told me to cancel the premium, sign up again as basic, and that I would get a refund. I requested a refund per her suggestion. She ended the chat before I finished, after I asked how to resign up, and then the refund was denied. Beware of this company and their ability to suddenly upgrade you with no direct method of downgrading (per the CS representative) Looking for a new provider. Ease of use! What takes hours in other platforms, is mere minutes in Wix. i.e. Animations, integrations, transitions)... transfering a paid website rights between differnt designs, and much functionality other sites do not offer, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

UX is not consistent throughout the experience.... foir example type styling and theme management. They appear in different manner, and with different options (i.e. sometimes you can modify font weight or size, but sometimes you can only use pre-exiting styles).

Also, the canned animations sometimes miss important properties (for example, the ability to change a logo on a moving top menu (important, as menu can shift from transparent to solid color and logo needs to turn negative, or be smaller).

Another pet peeve is the limited site versioning, and the confusing internal staging, the inability for an agency to duplicate sites for a customer, an a few other UX incositencies throughout.

Despite offering a pretty robust user management dashborad, they should also shift to collaborative design (like Webflow, Figma, and others) where you can leave comments on parts of the site to other editiors and designers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've designed about two dozen websites for clients using Wix. Very easy to use. Templates are excellent. New features are cutting edge. Customer service is a bit more difficult to reach, but once you've got them, they are top-notch. Shop app is more than adequate. Follow up features and automations are more than adequate. Sometimes I want to do something a little tricky so I have to use YouTube to find someone who can show me how, but that's not really a huge issue. I later wanted to embed some custom things that hooked into my property management system. Unfortunately they don't make that easy and once I was able to do it the widget showed up in an iframe, which is super old school and not ideal. I eventually switched to a Wordpress site which gave me more control over what I wanted to do. Unfortunately I still had months of my premium Wix subscription remaining and even though I had been a customer for years they refused to issue me a partial refund for the prepaid year. HTML 5 features, simple and easy point and click design all with affordable hosting fees. You can build your site for free and get everything laid out, tested, and then if you need a custom domain attached, you can pay the subscription fee to have an official site. Free sites can still be accessed by the public, just without a special domain address.

Adding pics, videos, contact forms, etc, is as simple as click the option, put it where you want, edit the text and click the publish button. Changes are immediately live. If you can create a simple Word document, then you can create a beautiful website with Wix. If you're not super creative, they have a ton of templates to choose from to get you on your way.
