"Great Datalake, But Accounting Features Lag"

What do you like best about Unanet GovCon?

I find the Datalake in Unanet GovCon very useful for extracting information from both ERP and CRM to build our own application and reporting layer. The program management reports and tools are also good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unanet GovCon?

The accounting team is probably the most frustrated with our switch to Unanet GovCon. There are UI annoyances, like having to take hand away from the keyboard often to 'click' instead of using tab. Some critical functionalities are lacking or not well-executed: ACRN billing is non-existent, semi-automatic bank reconciliation would be nice - all manual today, ACH file generation is painful, and several tasks require external spreadsheets like leave balance liability, fixed assets and depreciation, and EBITDA. The connector from ERP to ADP does not work well, if at all, and we're close to canceling it. The initial setup / migration was incredibly difficult, time consuming, and expensive. What do you like best about Unanet GovCon?

I find customer invoicing and customer payments with Unanet GovCon to be very simple and straightforward, especially when projects are set up properly from the start. What do you dislike about Unanet GovCon?

In the past year or so, there seem to be far more bugs in new releases and certain aspects of the system. There seems to be this early push of putting things out that have not been properly vetted prior to involving customers' time with beta testing. What do you like best about Unanet GovCon?

As a daily user for the past 4.5 years, what I like most about Unanet is how user-friendly it is, both in day-to-day use and in its overall UI. The system is easy to navigate, and it includes enough features to feel like a meaningful upgrade for small and mid-size contractors. It’s a solid option for teams that want to move up to better software without taking on the significant cost that can come with some alternatives. What do you dislike about Unanet GovCon?

Some of the standard reports in the system feel lackluster, and I find it difficult to get meaningful data out of the Planning tool without having to massage the data first. I also don’t like that when I use tasks on projects, those tasks don’t flow through to the GL reports, which feels like a major oversight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Unanet GovCon solving and how is that benefiting you?

Unanet helped us transition away from Quickbooks, which wasn’t well positioned to support a services-based government contractor of our size. It made project cost tracking and reporting much more seamless, and it also helped facilitate the cost segregation we needed to better support our rate structures. "Flexible Platform That Streamlines Invoicing and Timekeeping"

What do you like best about Unanet GovCon?

I appreciate the flexibility Unanet offers. We handle our invoicing through the platform, and it also manages our timekeeping. The timekeeping data is then sent to our payroll company. Unanet integrates with several of our other software applications, such as BambooHR. The support team at Unanet is outstanding—they respond quickly with answers or offer to schedule an online session to guide me through any issues. What do you dislike about Unanet GovCon?

There really isn’t much to dislike about Unanet. However, when it comes to Unanet support, I do wish they could meet with me on the same day I have a question. There are too many reports which is hard to know what figure out what you need. There are things in one report that you need in another report. I know you could create a new report but using analytics is also very hard to learn. Also some of the reports you can download to excel and other you cannot not. Not sure why. What do you dislike about Unanet GovCon?

Can not undo Vendor bills like you can an invoice. Set up is difficult - you have to have help from customer service to set up anything new because of all the unknown connections behind the scenes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Unanet GovCon solving and how is that benefiting you?

There are several suggestions that I as a user have...like being able to sort lists (example bank or cc rec), being able to undo a vendor bill - sometimes I need to add a description or change something and you can only delete them, JE's need to be approved now, so when I go through my list of JE's in use for the month, I have to submit and that makes me have to click back in to JE's in use and start again. What do you like best about Unanet GovCon?

In my opinion, Unanet is very well organized and straightforward to use. I found it easy to understand and pick up quickly. Having previously used Deltek Costpoint, I can say that Unanet is a much better ERP overall. It offers a range of strong features and I haven't encountered any bugs or errors that would interfere with completing accounting tasks. The customer support team is knowledgeable and genuinely seems to enjoy assisting users, rather than appearing frustrated or bothered. What do you dislike about Unanet GovCon?

What problems is Unanet GovCon solving and how is that benefiting you?

We need to be DCAA compliant and the system helps with this. We have part time employees as well and setting up different PTO accrual plans is easy and being able to automatically post or manually do it gives great flexibility. I have had trouble managing PTO accruals in other systems before Unanet. I like being able to un-post timesheets as well rather than void and have reversing entries. Invoicing is seamless I like the way to enter billable AP vouchers so it solves being able to bill accurately to our Government customers which is 99% of our work. As a user, I only interact with Unanet for timekeeping, and I appreciate how straightforward and reliable it is. The layout makes it easy to find the right project codes and log hours accurately.
