Honestly it is a very mediocre application. It does have a chrome button that is kinda handy for punching in and punching out. It keeps time, I guess that's the point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have a team of 5 but decided to bring on 2 student interns to do some testing for our development team, bringing us over the 6 employee threshold for the free version. Of the entire team, I am the only full-time employee and don't get paid, so I probably didn't really need a timekeeping app, but I figured, if it makes life easier, let's go for it. I opted to save some money and buy the year up front (Big Mistake) The first month is free and was spent trying to get everyone used to using Toggl, which they never did. It really only stuck with my CTO who had used it with another company in the past so he was already used to it, everyone else to this day just plugs their hours into it at the end of the week/month, which could easily be handled with an email. Not that any of that is Toggl's fault, but there just was not a lot of value for MY team. The problem, however, was when I added a user to replace someone who had left, and forgot to take the old person off the list right away, boom get hit with another 100 dollars for that new employees year in advance. I emailed support (They do not offer phone support at all) to let them know that after looking at this new charge and how little my employees use the service, I'd really like to downgrade to the free version and get a prorated refund. They informed me that they do not give refunds, even though it says on their website you can downgrade anytime. That actually is true you can press the button that says downgrade, but it won't actually downgrade until you're credits have run out. I asked to have a manager call me, and was informed that they would never do that as they don't make phone calls. They said they'd speak to a supervisor about a refund. No one ever got back to me. I emailed again asking to speak to a supervisor and someone emailed me back simply saying they don't give refunds and citing some fine print in their terms that of course, I agreed to when I signed up. I did agree, so it's not a scam, but boy they must not be very confident in their product. My company needs money more than anything, and I would NEVER refuse a pro-rated refund to an unhappy user. I like that I can easily access it on the computer and/or my phone on the app. It is user-friendly. It also helps me stay on track and I can run reports and categorize to see what I've been working on. I use it everyday. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish I could have more categories/projects under the free subscription. I work for a nonprofit so our funding is limited.
One thing I wish it had, was a reminder to turn the toggl on - if I forgot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Switching to Toggl Track has been one of the best decisions for our team. From the moment we started using it, the platform's intuitive and user-friendly interface stood out, making it incredibly easy to track time and manage projects. The detailed, customizable reports provide invaluable insights into our productivity and project progress, helping us identify areas for improvement and celebrate our successes. We have found that there is nothing we dislike about Toggl Track. The software has consistently met our expectations and delivered on its promises, making it an essential tool for our team's productivity and time management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It seemlessly synchronizes between desktop and smartphone app. This means when I get up from my desk, e.g. going to a meeting or break, I can stop my time tracking from my phone if I forget to stop it from my desktop. The ability to export Reports in Excel files is also very handy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not know if everyone will appreciate a standalone time tracker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use Toggle Track every working day, and I find it quick and easy to log time to each client throughout the day. It's easy to see where I am, with each client's retained hours, over the course of the week.
The reporting makes it easy to see where I am with each client's hours for the current month. And also easy to see the client's total hours for the previous month, for invoicing (invoicing external to Toggl Track).
I found it very easy to set-up Toggle Track at the start, and was up and running in minutes.
I have contacted customer support recently, regarding feedback on a new feature. Once I got passed the AI bot responses were quick and helpful.
I don't utilise many of the features, as my requirements are pretty simple, and Toggle Track does the job much better than the previous tracking tool used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't really found any downsides, to be honest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Toggl Track is a tool I use every day, all day. It's so simple to use and quick to start and stop tasks that it encourages use. I love the integration with GitHub. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Toggl Track is perfect for my use so I don't dislike anything about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Helpful to see team's reporting all in one tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With a little research, you'll find plenty of other time-tracking solutions out there, including ones that are directly integrated into your invoicing or project management software. Toggl is expensive for what you get, and their team will absolutely not give you a refund under any circumstance. I have been auto-billed from them for the last year after trialing the tool. Be careful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how simple it is to start a timer, particularly with the suggested timers, then keep an eye on it with Live Activities and the Digital Island on iOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reporting on the app is basic; I have to go to the web for "real" reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Toggl is very simple to use and extremely helpful when invoicing clients. Reporting is great, too. It's nice to see what employees are working on, where we are on a project's estimated time, and specific tasks within that project. Toggl also takes product improvement suggestions seriously. I wish adding a task was a little easier when you have a timer going. You have to go to the project section to add a task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very easy to use, integrates with many important tools, and customer support is very approachable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't say many things I dislike, but one thing that is missing is rounding project totals for a particular billing period. For example, rounding project totals to 1h multiples every week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
