The ability to group tasks into areas and dynamically create tags. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It only supports Apple devices, so sharing lists in a mixed OS household is not possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Minimal looks and is clearly integrated with a lot of useful tools. That makes me more productive than ever.
The most thing that I liked of Things is the one minute setup and you can use in every moment of your day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's not supported by a platform like Make. That would be so great to allow me create an amazing productive workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Things app comes with a beautiful clean UI and simple philosophy on how to organise your tasks. Just put anything that pops up into your head (even when on the go) into the Inbox and review later. Promised to do something but not sure when - put into Someday. Things will show you what you planned for today, what you have for upcoming days. Not a simple (one-step task)? - Take advantage of a Project setup. Things proves that it shouldn't be complicated (as long as you won't complicate it too much) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The app is great, but there are some downsides. It comes at a separate price per device type - you have to pay for iOS and Mac app separately and you don't have Android / Windows version. Although the app is great - you can not share your lists / tasks with other persons (your partner / family) and you can't attach files to the tasks (URLs are OK as well as Finder references, but not the files themselves). I like the simplicity and beauty of the interface. It's extremely simple, intuitive and enjoyable to use Things. I love how it just works and helps me get things done every day. I work as a digital product designer and I find using the app such a joy. The design of the app is beautiful, intuitive and intelligent. I even love watching the introduction video for Things 3. I love being able to buy the software once instead of subscribing and paying way more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, I can't say I dislike anything about this app. If I should name one feature I would like, it would be a different kind of visual folder structure, but that's minimal and might even destroy the look of the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The beautiful and streamlined native UI that Things brings to the table makes it incredibly easy to learn and use. Being able to group my tasks into projects and assigning them to today or someday makes my mornings very efficient. Syncing across multiple devices is very useful as well. To be honest, it is really difficult for me to find something to dislike about Things aside from the price point. The software is great, don't get me wrong, but I had a hard time justifying paying $70 CAD for the desktop app and then another $15 CAD for the iOS app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Love the capability to have structure at very granular level from areas to projects down to buckets and checklists. Also there's a great way to for tagging and searching across entries, so there's always an easy way to find what you were looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are too few integrations with existing browsers so that you could shoot links directly from browsers to app. For some reason, a quick entry with autofill feature doesn't work with some chromium-based browsers like Sidekick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Areas help to organize lists and prioritize; Projects allow for lists within each area; Today shows only the items you want to accomplish, getting less urgent items out of the way; Upcoming allows for easy future planning at a glance; Calendar integration puts your day front and center; Seemless cloud syncing between iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch! The biggest downfall is the lack of Windows and Android compatibility. This means I can't sync between my personal Apple equipment and my work Windows equipment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface and design is excellent, I used dark mode which looks fantastic. The best feature for me is the quick entry. With a keyboard shortcut its very easy to activate. For example, if im on a Microsoft Teams or Zoom call and I am giving tasks to do, I simply use the quick entry shortcut so I can set up tasks easily to add to my to do list. When receiving notifications on the mac on the top right corner I wish we could customise the "Options" drop down list when hovering over the notification. Currently when you click on the "Options" drop down list it gives you the choice of selecting "Complete", "Snooze for 10 minutes", "Snooze for 30 minutes" and "Snooze for 1 hour" which are good but if we could add our own for example "Remind me tomorrow morning" or "Remind me in the afternoon" would be very useful.
