The platform is great to use as both a teacher and as a student. I have used this in my undergraduate studies, as well as this previous semester when I was a graduate assistant teaching a class. So, I have experience on both sides of the spectrum when using this tool. Back in 2019 I had never heard of this tool before, but the moment that covid hit and we were forced to go into quarantine, I was introduced to this and many other learning softwares through my college. This being one of the best ones for the class that I was in. The videos were formatted great, with a very simple and easy to understand site. Whether it is your first time using an online learning tool, or you are experienced, the learning curve to get used to using the site is at a minimum which is great, especially for current Freshman level students. Also, as a teacher it was easy to post videos and keep them organized in a manner that would prove to be useful to students that were to watch them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There were two potential downfalls to this site in general. The first was it seemed like every video had to buffer an intense amount before it would play, and occasionally i would have videos that would freeze up every 10 seconds which made it impossible to watch. While I can partially blame this on my internet, the issue was no where near as prominent on sites such as Youtube, which lead me to believe that it was a partial internal issue on how they load the videos for the user to watch them. That was the only "real" issue that I had with the site. The other potential downfall is that the site is more made for lower level students. While I was able to benefit from it as a Senior in my undergraduate studies, it would be of better value to those that are just starting out in college and dont have the previous online learning experience that experieced students may have. But this was more of a preference issue, so I cannot take off points for this, simply because I know other senior level students who loved the simplicity of the site. Glad that it's a lightweight web app with an interface that is very simple and easy to follow. One can easily get familiar with all the tools in Knowmia and be able to quickly create and view the output. There are options to increase engagement with in-video quizzes and discussions linked to the timeline. I have not personally implemented this as we do not require this feature as of now but its good to know that its available when neeeded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have just recently switched to Knowmia and did not come across any issues in particular while using it. If possible I would appreciate if there was an option to preview/Download the captured video locally first before uploading to Knowmia servers. I was unable to find that option. Also this could be because of my internet connection issue but for some reason the time to load a preview was a little bit high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about TechSmith Knowmia is the ability to record anything on my computer screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, with my experience in using TechSmith Knowmia, there is nothing I dislike about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how this software combines many of the elements found in Camtasia and Snagit and used it for presentation purposes. I like that viewers can leave comments for immediate feedback or questions. This is great for vILTs. The reasonable prices and the accessibility features are great too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have Camtasia and Snagit already and I don't do too many webinars or live presentations. Yet, I don't have many dislikes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Working on layers, cutting, rendering, multiple formats Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I did not like while using the old versions prior 8, the fact that the video quality got affected after rendering the same videos after a couple of times Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very easy to launch on my desktop and doesn't take the whole screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. I've always used it on my personal projects and on my job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use and seamless integration with Canvas and YouTube. Although I haven't used a lot of the additional editing options, or the options to integrate discussion into the videos yet, I plan to do both. They are fantastic options! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far I haven't found anything about it that I dislike. I wish there were an automatic CC/subtitles generator, but then again, maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet. So, if there is, ignore this bit! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Everything! What's not to like?? We can create, edit, caption and publish a video in short time and with near-perfect auto-captioning. We can easily import YouTube videos AND add quiz questions to them! And the analytics? Shut the front door! I can see how much of my videos are watched by each student. This is totally a game-changer in higher edu video creation! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far...nothing. A feature that would be nice is the ability to set "generate captions" as the default on the classic recorder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
