This editor does not displease me I found in sublime everything I needed for my programming work I love that it is for free thing that is vital to me Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very easy to use, very fast and flexible. If you are using linux, its really good to implement python scripts, for example, and compile them via terminal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to dislike, but it would be great if it's possible or easier to compile scripts with Sublime. Also, it would be great if it had a tool to design interfaces in a easy way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best program to work and develop, I really didn't know it until I started working and I love it. The grayish-black color for working helps me a lot. It's free too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It doesn't have a function help, I miss it compared to Eclipse for example, even so I love it. Even if it reminds you every so often to pay for a license. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sublime Text editor automatically generates a project wide index of every method, function and class. Multiple selection functionality allows user to interactively change many lines at once which is quite useful functionality from a developer perspective. plus, it has built-in code to edit any external code. A pop-up coming on the screen asking to buy a premium account for a cost. Apart from that i like almost everything of sublime text editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ability to format multiple languages. Ability to change the display theme is also a nice plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only dislike I have with sublime text is that some of the plugins require keyboard shortcuts to implement and I don't always remember the shortcuts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Compared to other alternatives such as Atom, it consumes very little RAM, even loading thousands of files.
All the features work very fast and smoothly.
It has extensions/plugins for every language and developing tool, and a very convenient plugin manager that, in the last versions, is automatically installed by using a command. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a way to sync your personal settings and set of plugins for many computers, but it is manually done using a service such as Dropbox. It would be nice if that feature is integrated with the editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Interface is very simple to use and minimalistic. Furthermore has a lot of shortcuts and options depending on the language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it closes when projects are very big and it’s difficult to work with multiple folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I’m not sure why but pleasant looking syntax highlighting makes me really happy and since my technology list will grow in time, I want an editor that will grow with me when it comes to supporting different file types.
As developers, we’re often writing documentation. This could be for your own projects or packages that you plan to open source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
‘I use sublime text’, is often misunderstood as ‘I am a novice and I don’t like pure black window’. There is no way this 7 years old editor is going to compete with 39 years old emacs and 15 years old fork of yet another 39 years old editor vi. Nevertheless, there’s much more to come. Sublime text is one of the most versatile text editors out there. It can be modified to great extents according to a user's requirements. It gives the advantage of being a lightweight software like any other text editor along with auto-linting/formatting, code-completion support etc offered by IDE's.
