Sublime Text has great performance, it can open very large files (> 2 Gb) without issue, unlike other competing text editors such as Atom or Visual Studio Code which both regularly choke on large files. Sublime Text also has a great ecosystem of plugins and themes, letting you easily customised how it looks and what it can do. But my favourite feature is that you can close Sublime Text with unsaved files, either on purpose or by accident, and it will preserve all the files that were open whether they were saved or not, so next time you start Sublime Text you can pick up just where you left off last time.
